Thinking about buying a quadzilla tuner for my LMM. With the tune loaded will my remote start still work? Seems i remember some people saying that remote start only worked with EFI Live or HPTuners.

Yes it will work when the programmer is working correctly I have it installed right now.I would wait till Quadzilla works out there software problems. My check eng. light is on now because of the software probs so my remote start dont work. Anyone else with Quadzillla software probs with the Stealth 2?

Exactly.

There are a few things that are disabled when the SES/CE light is on. Remote start is one of them.

The 2.26 update worked for us. My buddies truck would do that hang up thing every so often. Never locked the truck up or anything but, it was annoying.

Anyhow one thing to note is that all we updated was the firmware 2.26 thing and did not update anything else and it works perfect.

If you do not have all the other latest updates you might want to do them all since it only takes a few seconds. They explained it to me that 1 of the files is the firmware update, 1 is for tuning changes and 1 is for text changes on the display.

Depending on what updates are out there depends on what you actually need to update.

Go try it I think it will work perfect!

Kudos!!!!!!

I made sure and returned to STOCK before doing the upgrade. Dunno if it mattered or not, but I could just see it wiping out my stock tune and I would be stuck!

Going out this AM to wash it and re-load the tune(s).

We've never received a report of remote starting issues with EFILive on the LMM's.

Recieved my Stealth 2 tuesday, ran the updates with the dpf delete option and updated programmer. Loaded on truck tuesday night (110 hp) and been working great all week. I think its stronger then the 160 hp setting I've been running on my PPE programmer the last few weeks. No issues so far and the whole unit w/dpf delete cost me less then PPE dpf upgrade charge would cost. You know the one that was suppose to be free.:D

I ran the 50hp (with DPF) on the way to work this morning. No problems, runs great. Couldn't do any tune other than ECON - prior to the upgrade.

I was just about to get rid of my Stealth. Now I love it. Especially that it is free upgrades for life. So easy to plug it in to USB.

I downloaded the NO DPF tunes also - just in case they go off of the website.

Gonna leave the 50hp tune in there until after tomorrow. I have to pull a car trailer with one car tomorrow. We'll see how it does.

Just like my signature says except I've switched to the stealth 2 programmer on 110 hp setting with dpf delete option. Still running factory exhaust with filter back kit right now. New turbo back exhaust going on this weekend so we'll see how much that helps.

It's great to see that you guys are having good luck with this tuner. I recently started looking into quadzilla for my LBZ. I almost ordered PPE but now it's a toss up. I just wish the quad disabled the EGR. Ironman how did you like the PPE compared to quadzilla? It seems the PPE doesn't make power in the lower rpm's this is where it seems power should be added.

the quad does disable the egr codes with the dpf delete programmingon the lmm if that is what you are saying. i have an egr blocker in my truck with now codes. you could call quad and ask them if they would come out with new programming for the lbz to help you out. i know when i talked with them they were very nice and acted like they would do just about anything for there customers.

The Quadzilla does feel alot stronger on the bottom end compared to PPE. I think this is the main reason it feels so much stronger.

How much and were can i get a quadzilla steath 2 to get rid of my check engine light . For my DPF delete and EGR blocker plate. Just sold my PPE Because i was told that the upgrade would be free if and when it came out this is why i bought my PPE. Now they tell me $400.00 more + shipping both ways for the upgrade . PPE is probably stronger but dont need a 350hp setting i will just break my truck just need some more power and the check engine light out. sold it for $550.00 payed $560.00 and i here the quadzilla is from $340.00 to $500.00. So i may make some money back sounds better then paying $400.00 more for the same thing
just to have a hand held programmer with more power and turn the check engine light out dont sound to bad if you ask me.

Fyi or atleast keep in mind that the fuel is a winter blend around here, nothing to severe bud they do put additive in as well the dmax is a pig when its cold. heck my mpg drops when i leave for work each day then after temp comes up the mpg increases. this has been very consistant with all of my dmax trucks.

Exhaust will be here in a week.

Once its on the progammer you cant opt out of it.

Absolutely. In fact, you return your truck to stock prior to doing any updates to the programmer itself. Mine had glitches and I was waiting to pay for the box until it was corrected. I downloaded the "WITH DPF" update and reprogrammed the programmer :D. Works great now. The 50hp tune is quite a difference from stock. I will probably leave it here until the DPF accidentally falls out . Much more tune than that will just plug the DPF almost instantly.

I also downloaded the "NO DPF" tunes. So, later, I will "RETURN TO STOCK", bring it in, plug in and update the unit. Then plug back into the truck. Simple.

Poor choice of words on my part.

What I was trying to say is once you load the no dpf file on your tuner, its a no dpf tuner from then on:mad:.
You can still put your truck back stock but you can not remove the "no dpf" from any of your tunes.
Why cant it be turned off & on ???

It would have been nice if they would have mentioned this:rolleyes: on there website.
I now have to order my exhaust sooner.

You can. You just re-load the "WITH DPF" tunes back in to the box and ultimately back into the truck ECM. You can always change the tunes in the box itself. That's why I like this unit. Lifetime free updates / user changeable tunes!

Ah! Well, I actually haven't done it, since I still have my DPF. I ASSUMED it was just like what I just did. I replaced the V2.2 firmware and tunes with V2.2B. I don't see how the box couldn't be "reflashed" with the regular V2.2B again - but, I didn't build the thing and they did. Wow.

And, I guess technically, the only reason you would to back to DPF is for smog purposes around 2010. So, you would just go back to "RETURN TRUCK TO STOCK" and it would always have your stock tune held inside. If it is true that the only tunes available would be NON DPF, then so be it. Still seems weird, though.

So you will ultimately plug your DPF and it will not clean out. You will probably get some pretty good reversion out of the intake (backflushing).

When I talked to Quad, they said to stick with the 50 or 70 - unless you wanted to be in re-gen almost constantly. The 110 supposedly puts out some pretty decent smoke (which the DPF catches).

Yeah I only drove it a few miles & it went into regen so I put it back stock.
I should have my exhaust in a week or so.

Thats why I was so pissed about the dpf thing with Quad.

You can go back and forth between regular tunes and "no dpf" tunes.

You just need to turn the truck to stock and use the USB to update it with their regular LMM update for all the people that have a DPF. Doing this just gives you the latest "stock" LMM tuning.

We went through this with my buddies truck when he took it into the dealer the other day to try and get them to fix the stupid tire pressure low error he keeps getting.

The tune for normal dpf use is the one right above the no dpf tuning on the update page.

Any of the full turbo-back or down-pipe back kits will fit an LMM. If you get Magnaflow, make sure you get the right one for your cab/bed configuration as they dont make a "one size fits all."

We are also a stocking Quadzilla dealer for those interested.

I bet whoever you talked to mis-understood what you were asking. They probably thought you were asking if you could turn the DPF stuff on and off sort of like you change tire size or something. I know this because I asked the same questions.

I was told that a newer version would be coming out and the idea was that it looses the Economy level, adds a more powerful level and has 2 of each tune which would be 1 normal tune and 1 off road tune for each level?

Not sure when or how or anything like that but, that is what I heard and I stop by there all the time on my way home from work.

I have not got a real answer as to why they are doing it this way but, I am guessing the "off road" download means OFF ROAD and they are making it a PITA and exclusive for good reason.

I would be a little patient as I know from their Ford and Dodge stuff they don't make something and stop, they keep working and making improvements and I am sure there are many new downloads to come.

I think Justin told me they are finishing up the "off road" version of the LBZ stuff. Not sure what that means but, maybe it is all the EGR stuff???

Well i bought a quadzilla for my LMM from ETR Diesel Performance off of ebay. The offer included free overnight shipping and it was at my house in less than 24hours. Went to install it on the truck and it wouldnt get past the screen that says "Checking stored vin# with truck vin#" or something to that effect. Anyways, i called the tech dept at quadzilla and he instructed me on how to download and upgrade it with the newest updates. After doing that a couple times it still didnt fix the problem. So i called back and they sent me one more update to try via email. Still didnt work. So im sending this one back and theyre sending me a new one free of charge. A little disappointed but the guys at quadzilla are treating me well.

yea i would try pulling the info radio amp fuse and see if tht does it with handheld tuners they dont like any interference at all you may get it to work some times with out pulling them but most of the time it wont work. even. and some trucks are more finiky then others

Didnt pull any fuses per Quad.
Mine loads fine, if the hvac is off.

Does anyone else's doors unlock when loading is complete ?

Mine did once. And, when it WASN't loading correctly, it would start the door-chime and DIC would read "SERVICE TRAILER BRAKES".

I thought about pulling fuses to see if it would load properly, but it says in the instructions that there is no fuse removal for LMMs, and the tech guy at quadzilla told me the same thing. Who knows. When the new one gets here if it does the same thing, you can bet i'll be yankin some fuses haha.

Naw. You just had a bad box. It happens. I turned the stereo and climate control off during the load. I am sure it doesn't make a difference, but it was just because the key is on so long. You just had some bad hardware.

Your new one should be fine. After re-flashing mine, it works flawlessly!

I just got my Stealth2 today and had to upgrade from v2.0 to v2.27 right off the bat.

Everything looks like it is going just fine and the tune starts loading and says DO NOT DISTURB....trailer brake and park assist comes up on the DIC and this is as far as I can get....book says it should take 1 to 5 min to load....I waited like 30 and still says do not disturb

I tried again this time pulling the radio and amp fuses and got the same results.

are there other fuses i should pull?

The LMM does not require any fuses to be pulled. Sounds like youre having the same problem i had. I called quadzilla directly and they sent me out a new programmer. The new one works great, but my old one kept getting stuck.

Well I tried it again this morning and loaded the STOCK tune...everything went smooth, so I tried loading the 50hp tune and no dice.....tried the 70hp tune and everything loaded smoothly

What could be up with the 50hp tune?

Mine does that sometimes. Usually, a second re-try kicks it into motion. A little clue, if the numbers at the end of the "do not disturb" line stay XX, it is a no-go no matter how long you stare at it. Just turn the key off, unplug and start over. It has always gone on the second try for me.

So, there is probably nothing wrong with your fittyHP tune. Just try again. I have ran all of them now except the 110. I will tell you that the 90HP brought on my first regen.

Also, for anyone going "back to stock", use the choice from the "diagnostics" menu. The other one in the "tune" section is not as consistant.

Wow, from all the great response from everyone seems like the Quadzilla is a great tuner for the money.

Im wondering if that 110hp tune would require a transgo jr in the tranny...what do you guys think?

Anyone having any other problems with it on their LMM, or just positive reviews for the most part?

It is the same USB cable that you would typically use for a printer or a scanner, with the "USB B" end on it. Like this:

http://www3.belkin.com/wizard/(S(n3dtk155cmlhwf55bd44rt2u))/Infrastructure/prodPage.aspx?p=F3U133-03

You should be able to find it at Walmart or certainly any office supply store.

Wow. I had been running the 90hp tune (with DPF) for a few weeks. I went into regen AT LEAST once a week. Up until then I had not had one that I was aware of. After a few days of running it to work and back, I noticed a deeper exhaust tone. It had a "drone" to it and I smelled something weird at stoplights. I realized that is what it must be and looked to the outside mirror on the right side. I could see a heat plume rolling around between me and the car next to me. Wow, what a bunch of heat!

So, after some more driving, it finished. Almost a week later, it was going again. I hadn't driven it hard at all, either. I will say it was mostly stoplight-stoplight. Anyway, I just put it back to the ECONOMY tune for now.

Just a little heads-up for anyone still running a DPF.

yep tuners and the dpf are a bad combo the higher in power you go the more it will regen . also a transgo would be a good adition but it will not hold that extra power it will help thoe. and also depends on driving style. on how long your alli will hold on

A note on regen, I have not noticed regen more with the the stealth. I have always regened once a week anyway. I make a lot of short trips in the 2 to 10 mile range and I geuss these trucks don't enjoy that very much.

Is there a website or a phone number for Westcoast performance? How about a name of someone you spoke with?

Thanks, Ryan
