: here's your factory spray-on!!
YZ250B 11-19-2007, 09:44 AM This is a picture of a Nissan Titan factory spray on. The warranty has expired so Nissan will do nothing about it! Ford has the same product coming and GM will not be far behind. How many would like to pay $1100 for this problem and NOT have a lifetime warranty?:D
dan-o 11-19-2007, 11:04 AM If you own a titan a crappy liner is the least of your worries. The line-x warranty is a non-issue for me as i've never had problems with my line-x'd trucks.
Nolafishr 11-19-2007, 01:57 PM I just had mine done, it is a Reflex Liner with a lifetime warranty on it, it was $425.00 installed, it is about 1/4" thick, looks very nice. I had it thrown in when I bought my Truck last week. www.reflexliners.com
2007 Silverado 2500HD Ext Cab SB LT/Black Ext/Ebony Int/ LMM Diesel:D
volumejunkie 11-19-2007, 02:28 PM I just wish that the line-x warranty was a little better. It only works if YOU had it put in and YOU are taking it in for warranty. Mine was in when i bought the truck. Line-X badge and all. Getting some chips on the tailgate, but i gotta pay to fix it.
YZ250B 11-19-2007, 05:16 PM we fix em for free- ensure's the customer will return with new truck!
volumejunkie 11-19-2007, 07:53 PM Wish the guys around here would. Dont get me wrong it's great, the chips just bug me.
JC PAINT WORKZ 11-19-2007, 08:41 PM go to a different dealer around you.. have you tried others? im going with line x hopefully soon...
volumejunkie 11-20-2007, 06:25 AM Havent tried others yet. Closest one is about 5 minutes down the road. Next one is about an hour away.
TruckDaddy 11-20-2007, 10:03 AM Reflex's warranty is only with the dealer that sprayed it. If he goes out of business or sells out, your out of luck. The LINE-X warranty is valid nationwide (about 600 dealers).
tinypeckerwood 11-21-2007, 12:22 AM Line x needs a warranty because they suck, i've seen plenty and it hurts to here what they charge for the crap they spray, usually so thin you would swear you could see through it!

I smell a troll
Oh I just realized you spray a competitive product!!
I've had 4 trucks with it - the oldest done in 2000, and although they get some wear, I've NEVER had any issue with any of the applications. BTW they check every application with a gauge, and it has to be at least 0.20" or more or they re-apply the Line-X - so I don't know how you can say its so thin you can see through it...
tinypeckerwood 11-21-2007, 01:56 AM I should refrase that, the local dealer by me sprays thin, I can say that because I can see that. and yes I am doin' a lil trollin too! It just makes me sick too see how some are sprayed, it takes 15 minutes more to spray it right. I have turned away several potential costomers request to fix someone elses work.

It looks to me like somebody had a small campfire in the bed of the truck. I noticed that the spot is a darker black than the rest and bubbled up. Do you know what caused the problem?
YZ250B 11-21-2007, 08:27 AM Muddauber Nissan has lost alot of money on this problem. They would replace the entire truckbed when under warranty. The problem is caused when product ratio is compromised due to robotic application! Bubbles will occur if you are heavy on either side being A iso and B Poly!Sometimes it can take some time before the bubbles will pop up and when they do usually they are not alone!
TruckDaddy 11-21-2007, 09:33 AM tinypeckerwood: Badmouthing is not appropriate nor appreciated on the forum.
I see now that you edited your post, thanks.
Nissan has had a LOT of problems with their PPG bedliner. They have been through many formulations and robotic changes. Here's some pics of other Nissan problems:

Diesel Darrell 11-21-2007, 10:00 AM The linex was in my truck when i bought it used, it looks terrible.
Faded and chips all over. Very thin to, some guys at work have it and theirs are thicker but all are either chipping or faded.
The fix is the rubber mat from dee zee on the floor of the bed, $50 and you can take it with you when you sell the truck. never fades and i have never ripped or chipped it. You do have to roll it up if you put a sled in the truck. The linex gets ruined when the carbides go over the tailgate.
I think its a lot of $ for what it is..
TruckDaddy 11-21-2007, 10:15 AM Can you post a pic showing the LINE-X bed tag?

Wow, that certainly is a major problem. I would hate to have spent the money for a new truck and have a problem like you guys are discribing. Even if the whole bed was replaced under warranty, it is still a hassle. I'm sure the company was looking at a huge cost savings originally by using the robots with low over spray and waste factor. Thanks for the good info.
TruckDaddy 11-21-2007, 10:32 AM And, Nissan's warranty on the bedliner is 3 years, 36K miles.

Oh man, that problem now sounds even worse!
EricJS 11-22-2007, 03:55 AM Good idea gone bad, Nissan.
I'll stick with the real thing.;)

That bed looks like someone rolled hot tar over and over on it. I'd be selling that little Nissan.
