Is there any advatages of taking off the resonator that says 6.6 on it? If so what do you use to cap it?

I used a plumbing cap from the local hardware store. Didn't notice any difference in sound.

Mine's capped. I used a 2" "quick cap" from Home Depot. Its like 2 bucks for that part.
