"24b. Indicate the location and condition of the FSD/IP grounding wire. N/A"

Was the wire on the IP for the PMD checked?

Do you have a spare PMD\FSD to test with?

My Pmd Is Pump Mounted So I Do Not Think I Have A Ground Wire To The Pump I Could Be Wrong I Know My Motor Has 2 Grounds From The Batteries And 2 Ground Leads To The Frame But For Some Reason I Think The Pump Is Only Bolted To The Block Of The Motor But Does Not Have A Ground Lead. If It Should Be Please Let Me Know So That If It Was Missing I Will Put A New One In

I Have Another Pmd On My Old Ip But I Do Not Know If It Is Good I Replaced The Whole Pump Because I Did Not Know All Of The Information I Know From This Site. If You Know If I Could Test The Old Pmd And Put It To A Remote Location Just To Check Please Let Me Know How To Ground It And If I Need An Extended Harness To Do So

Chances are if your PMD is pump mounted, you'll not have a whole lot to worry about with the IP ground, however, it's still worth checkin' out. Since you have an OBD-I system, you might have an optical sensor filter harness on top. Check out over at heath diesel's site (site supporter/vendor) for a picture of one. If you have one on there, try unplugging/removing it from the system, and plugging in directly from the IP to the truck wiring harness. Drive and see what happens.

I kinda doubt it's a PMD issue. Those code numbers don't usually come up with PMD's.

Not sure if this will help, but I had the same problem a year or so ago. It turned out to be the PMD. I had my truck in at the dealer several times and they were not able to figure it out but were leaning towards an IP. After doing some research here, I was almost convinced it was the PMD. I called Heath Diesel, discribed my problem and they were 99% sure it was the PMD. So I ordered a remote mounted kit from them and sure enough, no more problems. Give them a call. They are very helpful. Good luck!

Do you have a filter harness on the optic sensor?

I would concentrate on the code 18...perhaps a bad crank position sensor? gmctd or Bill Heath will know best....
