Ok, about a year ago I had a new motor put in my '92 1 ton. It was put in professionally, and I have had a few issues that they have taken care of under warrenty. The latest started about 2 months ago. I notices that it was using water. I would fill it up, drive to work (about 25 miles) and check before I left. It was always down about a quart. Took back to the shop that installed motor and they said that a plug on the back side of the motor had come loose, not sure if was a soft plug or what. He tightened, filled with antifreeze and delivered it to my work place, which is about 30 miles for him, free of charge. Well starting earlier this week I noticed that it was starting to use water again. I filled it yesterday, went to work and by the time I got there the over flow was compleetly full and had blown excess out. Temp guage never got over 175 mark. Same thing on the way home this AM. I got home side of pickup is covered with antifreeze overflow tank plumb full, temp never over 175, as it was running I put hand on radiator not hot at all, opened overflow tank warm not hot, was able to put finger in antifreeze as it was not hot. ANY ONE have ANY IDEA what the hell is going on?

With the radiator full is there bubbles in it? something must be blowing it out and the only thing I could think of would be a bad head gasket.

Well I fill it up and by the time it warms up enough to recirc it's overflowing if the cap is off the radiator, so I couldn't tell you on the bubbles. It has already had one headgasket replaced, factory defected gasket.

The cooling system must be filling with exhaust flowing the coolant out. I dont see any other reason for it.

Only one gasket done?? just to do one is a waste of time seeing as your 3/4 done just to do one. also check your rad cap if its weak it will "blow off" even if there are no headgasket issues

It could also be a cracked head blowing that compression into the water jacket...

Regards,

I thought about that but it sounds like a big chunk of the head gasket is missing where a wather jacket is. I wouldnt think a chracked head would let much through. I never had a cracked head so I dont really know what it would cause.
