yesterday i ran the enginge block heater down to my tow hook and while it was in the air i decided to check the rear axle fluid it was low so i added some but i added way to much and i let it drain out through the fill hole for about 20min and it was still going so i decided to try and pump it out(not to smart) there was a tip on the tube i forgot to take off and it fell in the axleCensored so i had to take the cover off to get it i scaped the olg gasket off with several razor blades and installed a new gasket and noticed from the factory they used red threadlocker on the bolts so i used some on them to
now i'm affraid the new gasket is going to leak because the gasket doesn't look to be sitting flush like the factory plus this mourning i noticed the bottom of the gasket apears wet:mad: but it has been raining and snowing here luckily i haven't seen anything driping yet

I woulda left it to be honest that plastic tip wont do any harm at all. If the axle was overflow you coulda pulled the drain plug too. i dont understand whyyou say the gasket dont look right. As long as its clean and the bolts are tighten properly....

the gasket looks gaped in a few spaces between the cover and the housing near the bottom
