95 gmc yukon 2 door 4x4 with 6.5L pmd replaced a few months ago (just relocated to the top of the manifold with a heat sink attatched). truck has stalled 3 times, once at a red light, once cruising at 35mph, and a 3rd time cruising at 60mph. fired right up after you put the shifter in neutral or park and when it stalled it was not a violent jerking sensation (like when his pmd died, bucking back/forth harshly), just a quick die as if you turned the ignition off. i replaced his fuel pickup sock a few weeks ago, any ideas what it might be?

Fuel return pressure might be too high. Check your tank cap after you have driven it for a while. You shouldn't have to hear too much of an audible hiss when you crack that fuel tank cap. The fuel return line comes straight from the injector pump and inevitably makes it's way back to the tank. While the vehicle is running take a pair of pliers and crimp that line and watch the truck die off and you will see what I am talking about. The tank has to vent. Fuel must circulate and cool the injectors.
Another reason might be the fuel shutoff solenoid that is located under the top cover of the inj pump. Run a 12 VDC lead to it and you should hear an audible clicking sound but when it gets hot the resistance gets high and it might not want to actuate. Use a multimeter and check the resistance when it is cold (not running) and again when the engine has been rinning for a while. (hot) and when You are having trouble. If the resistance is higher when hot then You might want to consider getting a new solenoid. Be careful when replacing that fuel shutoff solenoid. The engine can run away on you when you run the truck for the first time after installing.

What's your fuel pressure situation?
Have you checked all the ground connections? Codes?

Mine used to die like described above and it was the PMD, try re-torquing the transistor nuts and move the PMD outta the engine bay....is it just me or a lotta posts about stalling and PMD's remote mounted and still under the hood?
