This is what an efilive rep sent me a few months ago.

EFILive has in development a product called AutoCal. This device is not available for sale currently, but is pretty much exactly what you are wanting.

The AutoCal will be provided (sold) to you by a tuner shop with a tune (or tunes). These tunes can then be uploaded directly into the PCM (and you can upload your stock tune also). Additionally you will also be able to produce logs which can be sent back to the tuner for further refinement of the calibration.

I’m not able to give you an indicative timeframe for the release of the AutoCal product.

my big question is weather or not those of us with out the workshop version of EFILive would be able to get a hold of one. for example my father lives over 5 hours from me. he wants me to tune his truck but wants to be able to put it back to stock to go back to the dealer. i can't drive 5 hours every time my father wants to change a tune in his truck! so would someone like me be able to get one of the units and use one of our licenses to tune someone else's car or could this only be done by people who sell EFILive??

Autocal is a new piece of hardware (about 2/3rds the size of V2) that allows a person with FlashScan V2 to license the unit, and upload a number of tunes to the unit. It's then shipped to the customer and loaded into their vehicle. The customer can log and discuss his/her needs with their tuner. Emails of logs and tunes can then flow freely back and forth until the customer is happy with their tune.

Autocal was designed to assist Tuner shops in tuning remotely. It was also designed to assist the aftermarket industry to "kit" a hard part product and custom tuner to dial in that hard part. While Autocal will be sold by resellers, we see the real market for Autocal in being rebadged by the Custom Tuners and jobbers.

To answer the specific questions....

Autocal doesn't have a fixed release date - it will be released when it's ready for sale. It's currently in BETA.

Robert - Autocal would be a good solution for your situation.

Cheers
Cindy
