I have just completed a 600 mile journey, with the truck towing the same trailer it towed last week.. only this week it lost the right hand turn signal, then the marker lights, and then the left hand turn signal also ( that includes brake lights.) I was without tools, because they were missing from being in the dealership for 5 days..... so I called the helpline, and asked if they knew why it would do this. They blamed the trailer, so I checked all the contacts, wires, bulbs, fittings and connections.. All good. It seems the truck has developed an electrical fault, which I will confirm in daylight later today. Has anyone else had problems with the trailer electrics???

Did you check the fuses on the truck? Use a test light and see if you have left turn, right turn and park lights in the rear plug of the truck. They were right it is most likely your trailer at fault.

Unless the truck has non oem wiring then its anybodys guess.

I checked it out, in daylight, and found strange voltages in the plug.. I am taking it to the local dealer tomorrow, to fix it.. I am not going to mess with a truck with less than 7k miles on it.

I had a similar problem with my trailer - popped up out of nowhere. Turned out to be a grounding problem on the trailer. Ended up removing and re-setting all the connections on the trailer lights - that fixed it.

The truck is at the local dealer right now, getting the GM pto idle system put in.. They are also going to look at the trailer lights to see what is happening. If they can't find anything, the trailer is getting rewired..

Update:

There was nothing noticed by the dealer, concerning the trailer brake system.. It operated fine, and has nothing wrong with it. however, the bed that was put onto the truck by the dealership I bought it from was connected with scotchlock connectors, and it was raining.. Go figure.. So I need to rewire the bed properly.
