Last week, Whilst towing my smaller trailer, with TYM tractor on board, the truck died. After sitting for an hour, in a dangerous position, waiting for the GM provided tow truck to contact me with an ETA, a local Sheriff arrived and arranged a tow (cost $200) to a local GM dealer. They told me the truck had run out of fuel, but I assured them, and proved, that the rear tank was full of fuel. 5 days later, I get my truck back, with a new sender and pump. I was not impressed with the GM customer roadside assistance or the fact it took 5 days to fix the truck.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I too had an "incident" that called for GM roadside, and was not impressed. GM has regional contracts with AAA (in Maryland) and others, they do not maintain a towing service network themselves. After 2 too small tow trucks, and 16 hours, I finally got a third driver capable of moving my rig to a dealer...
...He had been instructed to take it to a Buick, Pontiac, GMC place, but on my insistance, towed me to the nearest Commercial GMC Truck dealer instead (5 miles closer). All of this for a flat on my left side steer! (somehow picked up a 3/8" bolt through the center of the tread?!?!?).

I also have "Good Sam" road service, so I may have to call them next time instead.

The Good Sam Roadside Emergency is a really good thing to have, but they do severely restrict the usage.. If you are solo and away from home, or are towing an RV they will help. Towing your own none recreational trailer will not get any help from them, nor will any commercial journeys..
