I have a transmission leak on the line that comes off the bottom of the transmission and heads toward the front cooler. It's right under the fan belt on the passenger side, where the metal line is coupled to a rubber line. The rubber line is probably about 12-18" long and it's leaking on the top joint where its couppled back with a metal line that then goes into the front cooler.
Is this a common place to leak?
My question is how to remove the metal crimped on fastener that attaches the rubber line over the metal line?
And then also does GM sell just that short rubber line? And also the crimp on connectors? Where can I find part # for these parts?
Thanks
Tom

You need to buy the complete line.

The metal line and everything?
If so, any reason why I can't go to the local hose store and have them cut the exact same size rubber hose to length?
Just don't know how those crimp on connectors attach or remove.

The crimps must be cut off and it's very hard to do that without damaging the line. The new line costs about 40.00 from the dealer.

So that entire formed metal line with the rubber line and then again back to the second formed metal line is only $40 for that entire piece running from the tranny to the cooler?
Anywhere online I can see a parts schematic with part #'s?

no, there is actually 3 lines. one from the rad to the cooler, one from the rad to the trans and one from the trans to the cooler. they all have a rubber hose section. your better off getting the whole line from the dealer. cheaper in the long run if the new crimp fails.

The line I am talking about runs from the bottom of the trans, heads upward below the fan belt, and connects to a rubber hose. The rubber hose runs more or less vertical for 12-18" and then turns back into a metal line and connects up front near the radiator.
So I need to replace this entire line? And if so, is this what Mike is saying is $40?

Wow that's cheap, I was expecting hundo's. Thanks for the info Mike.
Still wish there was an online parts diagram...Anyone have a link for one?
