I got my truck back from the detailer the other day with two problems (I believe both related to armor all overload on the switches.
1. The Big Daddy control switch that prevents little stinkers from operating thier windows is not functioning correctly and 2. the cruise control is very sticky when trying resume.
What is the easiest and best way to get the switches decontaminated?

Stop using Armor All!! that's nasty stuff. Ever see the black grungy dashboards on old cars? That's hardened up, dirt loaded silicone (Armor All).

Also the old saying too much of anything is no good applies here.

Try using a water based silicone like 303 protectarant. And only do it twice a year tops.

Sorry, I don't have any ideas on cleaning the switches.

Thanks..Actually i'm not sure what they use at detailer. I though of spraying some water and then using air to dry the switches and maybe that would clean it up without taking the door panel apart.

Buy some contact cleaner @ Radio Shack.

Buy some contact cleaner @ Radio Shack.
I would be careful, contact cleaner may hurt the door panel and plastic around the switches, although it should do fine cleaning the switches.:)

Get some CRC brand plastic safe contact cleaner. With the truck off spray it in there and cycle swiches and push buttons, let it dry for a few minutes and check to see if they work right.

I would not try anything except back to the dealer! If someone got carried away with a "interior protectant" I would think they would clean it off and repair any damage. Could be the dealership "wash kids" and no one in management is aware of what they do or did to your truck.:( Anyway its worth a try.

Sorry, should not read too quick on NyQuill (detailer/dealer). Still worth a try>
