It will hurt the tranny eventually. Depends on how your drive it.

If you drive easy, you should be alright. The problem that I have had is the temptation to USE it all the time. If you can keep your foot out of it, it'll be fine. Good rule of thumb - if the back tires have the same treadlife left as the front, it'll be ok. :)
