2007.5 cc/sb Duramax/Allison - Anytime I use a trailer the backup assist will not function for a while,after disconnecting the trailer the parking assist botton flashes for a while until truck is started and stopped for a couple of times before it will be seviceable again.Raining weather ,cold mornings ,you might as well count out the backup assist,the light flashes and I get "sevice parking assist ".Anyone else having problems with there parking assist?Solutions? Have to get my first oil change in 600 miles (4400 miles on truck now)will have them check it out,until then it is pretty much useless most of the time.:cool:

My parking assist takes a vacation any time I tow or leave the hitch in the receiver. Once it's been removed, the system will reset itself after I drive in a forward direction for a few hundred feet.

As for driving in the rain, wipe the sensors with a cloth soaked with WD-40. This will repel water droplets that settle on the surfaces of the sensors and 'blind' them.
