I smoked my V2 today somehow.

I plugged into into the truck, heard a snap sound and some smoke came out of the V2 unit. I quickly unplugged it and here we are now.

I had just done the FPRV shim mod and I wanted to hook up and go drive for a bit to see if I hold rail pressure. And this is what happened.

Anybody else had a problem like this? And is this covered under any kind of warranty or anything? I havent read anything yet, I'll go get doing that now.

Check shipping costs. You can either send it to me or to EFILive in NZ for inspection/replacement.

Shipping cost wont be an issue, should i package it up with everything that i got with it? do i need to do anything with the warrenty card or anything like that?

This is chevy350's (seans) brother by the way.

Send it all, so I may inspect the unit with the cables it was used with.

Must be a good tune if the V2 even smokes when you load it!!:D

Sorry about your luck. Trippin's got you covered.

did you plug the RJ45 connector into the wrong port on the V2? There are two RJ45 (ethernet/large phone jack type plugs) ports on the V2...

nah, it was standard procedure, had everything all lined up. Hadnt plugged it into the laptop yet, i was starting the laptop up and sean leaned over and plugged in the v2 and we heard a big snap sound, then i looked over to see what it was and there was smoke coming out of the v2, so sean pulled the cord out of the truck port. And that there was pretty much the end of our fuel pressure logging session...haha. I have it all packaged up here i think were gonna ship it out to Efi live, sean was in contact with them but he took off back to work and i havnt talked to him to hear the final word on where to ship this outfit to.

Oh and no nothing plugged into the cig lighter, and we tested them after they both still worked fine. She never made the flash stage though, it was right off the intial plugging in of the odb port
