: I see how many are baited to F250
z1000r 11-11-2007, 02:47 PM there was a quad cab 6.4 at the Tampa Bay Auto show. It was the first time I sat in one because I never even considered Ford when buying. Ford does a good job at baiting the mainstream buyer into their product. The 250 came with many more cool features like built in universal auxillary switches, power rear windows and electronic extending/folding mirrors.
The interior had a more heavy duty/ quality look to it, and by far the most comfortable seats I had ever sat in. I sat in many of the mercedes, bmw and cadillacs and none were as comfortable as the Ford. While I was there I sat in an LMM and wasn't too pleased at all...the dash seemed too close for a large 2500 and everything looked plasticy/cheap.
With all that said I would still without hesitation buy a chevy again because I'm one that values the drivetrain over all else. It would be nice to have that 6.4's body on the GM drivetrain. Too many horror stories about head gaskets and turbo probs on the FURDS.
01Duramax6spd 11-11-2007, 03:40 PM No doubt Ford makes a more truck-like truck,{solid axle,spring front suspention,truck-like interior,ect} too bad it isn't reliable  or as powerfull as a D-Max.
diesel geezer 11-11-2007, 04:53 PM You'll probably be able to get your wish. There's bound to be lots of Ford cabs floating around when they have to remove them for engine service.:muahaha:

TBoom 11-12-2007, 04:45 PM A buddy of mine claims his ultimate truck would have a CTD engine, an ally transmission, and a FURD body and interior. I don't know much about the Cummins, but I tend to agree with his last 2 points!
jawaring 11-14-2007, 12:22 AM I'd love to have this trucks LBZ/Ally in my 06 F-250 + the Bose of course. The Ford radio was crap. I like solid axles much better than the IFS. Although this Chevy seems much more civilized in traffic and parking lots...
jtinlbc 12-14-2007, 12:55 AM the best would be a ford truck, ctd, and an allison tranny
untill then my 01 powerstroke crew cab is just about perfect
38's on donohoe suspension
ts chip,afe intake,custom exhaust
200k trouble free miles, towing and daily driving
but chevy does have the market cornered in the van department
Im asking questions about an 06 duramax van
Mercedesnick 12-14-2007, 01:56 AM A while back in Diesel Power Mag. a guy bought a brand new '08 F550, removed the engine/trans/tc and put in a brand-new crate 5.9 CTD and NV5600, then a bunch of other stuff including a Gear-Vendor overdrive. Sweet rig, but it must have cost over $100K.

Yeah that bad-daddy also had twins installed after a short while.

Wait, I guess I had just taken for granted that a crew cab would have power rear windows? If it had the power window option...?
Sorry for the newb question I just really never thought about it before.
duramaximizer 12-17-2007, 08:53 PM He was talking about powersliding rear (back ) window....not the 2 back side windows.
Tigeman 12-18-2007, 12:08 AM Chevy has that option as well this year.
It's really nice when combined w/ a sunroof.
