I have searched and connot find an answer to my question. I have heard alot about ETG and the affects of high ETG on the engine.

Can someone tell me what acceptable Llevels for ETG are? I have an 03 with the edge juice & attitude.

Thanks

You mean EGT? Exhaust Gas Temperatures.

If so, Stock Turbo most keep it under 1400 or so. Dont keep it at 1400 or higher for a long period of time. Alot of debate on EGT melting points. Search around for ALOT of reading..:)

Unless your driving style is extreme, having the chip alone will not take you into the extreme temps. But if you tow or carry heavy loads with the chip, especially going up long grades, you should look into adding an EGT probe to monitor your temps. You should have received a probe with your Attitude.

Just my $0.02 worth and opinion based on having three different Chevy Duramax HD trucks; all of them chipped with the Edge Juice and driving with and without a load/tow trailer while monitoring EGTs all along.

Short bursts of high temps during competions such as drag racing or sled pulling are generally accepted as not detrimental to engine life, but I would try to keep from going much above 1300 °F for extended periods of time.

anything around 1300 and above is said to be bad. I doubt you have anything to worry about with just the edge juice and attitude monitor
