: Diesel down 14 cents a gallon overnight
HoustonDMax 12-09-2004, 08:20 AM Where I fill up, went from 1.889 to 1.749 overnight. Didn't notice any other stations with dramatic changes. Will have to check closer on the way home tonight.
Anyone else seeing these kinds of dramatic drops?
aka108 12-09-2004, 08:50 AM Stuff was 2.29 per gallon in N. Fl. Shell and a few have dropped to 2.16. Drove by a station near a Wal-Mart N. of town and it was posted at 2.02. We need to get used to these wild swings. Last year it was 1.65.
haulin' ace 12-09-2004, 09:25 AM Chevron in Placerville went from $2.32 to $1.99 in a few days!
BUCKSHOTjr 12-09-2004, 10:02 AM In Eleberton it droped from $1.99 to $1.89
colodmax 12-09-2004, 10:12 AM It dropped from $2.05 to $1.95 in Longmont Co. last night.
HoustonDmax,
Where do you fill up? Still seeing $1.95-2.03 in Katy
RonJT 12-09-2004, 10:50 AM Even in Los Angeles Kalifornia--it dropped 20 cents in less than a week--$1.99 at my cardlock as we speak.
kvdmax 12-09-2004, 11:18 AM Yeah, HoustonDMax, where are you seeing those prices? I also live in Cypress area and haven't seen anything close to that.... around $1.95 seems to be average I've seen in past day or two.
HoustonDMax 12-09-2004, 01:22 PM Murphy's (Wal-Mart) at Eldridge and 290. I seem to get the best mileage on their stuff, and have never had a problem with water. Amazing how different brands can affect mileage, to the tune of 1+ mile per gallon.
I'll check it tonight to see if anything changed during the day.
Regular was down to the low 1.60's as well.
kvdmax, wherebouts in Cypress you at?
GMC2500HD 12-09-2004, 02:25 PM I have been filling up at Shell over here in Pearland and I am paying $1.70 right now and have seen it as low as $1.50 at one station... Did not have cash and don't carry their plastic so I did not get fuel there...
kvdmax 12-09-2004, 02:37 PM HoustonDMax -- you talking about the Wal-Mart at Eldridge and 1960? I can't believe it's that much cheaper than Wal-Mart at 290 and Cyrpess Rosehill. I agree about how it differs from one station to another.... I can usually tell pretty quickly after filling up as truck seems to run louder on "bad" diesel vs very quiet on good stuff.
I live at 290 and Barker Cypress in Stonegate. Where do you live?
DRCook 12-09-2004, 08:55 PM last nite it was still 2.19 here in Ohio at Sunoco.
srode 12-09-2004, 09:56 PM Paid $1.88 tonight in McKinney, saw it for $1.89 on 75 at the truck stops between Sherman and McKinney today also.
BMCD, hows the fishing down South TX? Going to Fork the next 3 days to see if the deep bite is on.
Turbotug 12-10-2004, 12:03 AM WOW!! Gas has gone down at least 25 cents a gallon here in the last month, Diesel, down 2 cents. WTF!! Gas $1.95, #2 $2.17-:t
deadfurrow 12-10-2004, 01:15 AM I noticed quite a few places along I-75 tonight in Ohio where gas was down to $1.519, but diesel was still above $2.00.
HoustonDMax 12-10-2004, 08:24 AM I checked the that original station last night and this morning. Back up to 1.889. Sign is on the ground, and has manual numbers. I suspect someone was having fun with them overnight. Sorry about the false information.
Regular is down to 160.9 there; sign up in the air, so probably not messed with. Around the house, still above 1.70
kvdmax, there are three Wal-Marts within five miles or so of my house, and last weekend the diesel price varied from 1.889 to 1.929 to 1.969, IIRC. Go figure. They are adding fule sales to the Sams at West and 290 as we speak. Hopefully it will have diesel. BTW, I am at Spring Cypress and Grant.
jcummins 12-10-2004, 10:04 AM It wasn't very long ago I thought $1.59 was ridiculous, and now I 'hope' to find something below $1.90. Came back from Florida yesterday. Prices all over the place. High was $2.12, low was $1.79.
I don't know about everyone else, but the way these prices are jacked around just reinforces my thoughts that we are getting ripped off
Enigma 12-10-2004, 10:47 AM I’m sure everyone has heard but, on the news this morning I heard that the Overcharging Profiteering Extortionist Countries (better known as OPEC) have decided to cut back on oil production by 1 million barrels a day. I’ll bet as a result of this announcement the gas companies will begin raising the prices of fuel to well over two dollars a gallon again, get it while it’s cheap I’m sure it won’t last.
AndrewFessler 12-10-2004, 01:25 PM Gas dropped down to 1.61 lastnight, diesel is still at $2.02. Has been at $2.02 for about two weeks, before that was at $2.09. I suppose the home heating oil market has driven the price up around here. (This was on 35 outside of dayton)
I about drank my diesel tank at home empty, hopefully good timing, maybe I can get it filled at a cheaper rate.
I noticed quite a few places along I-75 tonight in Ohio where gas was down to $1.519, but diesel was still above $2.00.
BlueDMax 12-10-2004, 06:47 PM They've come down here in Central Oregon but diesel is still $2.20 (more expensive then Primo Gas and way more than reg gas which is @ $1.90).
