: Redneck lights/Clearance lights
Crank 11-09-2007, 07:12 PM I dont know how many people this will actually apply to, because the bigger trucks came with the 3 piece clearance lights on the cab, but my '01 Silverado doesnt have any lights on the roof, and as much as I like them, I wouldnt put the UGLY 3 piece light set up on my truck, does anyone have any pictures or have their trucks with the older 5 piece light set up on their cab. Thanks
Brandon
lostinohio 11-09-2007, 11:17 PM Hi Crank,
I can't post a pic w/5 lights on the roof, but the 07.5 O.E. cab lights I think look good on the older style. Mine is an 01 GMC 2500HD. Just food for thought.

Crank 11-12-2007, 05:51 PM Anyone else put older style clearance lights on their rig?

Deere3594 11-12-2007, 11:34 PM Ive seen a 01 runnin around with the clearance lights from the older trucks, it looked great to me..
Crank 11-22-2007, 11:09 PM TTT on this, who has pics of trucks with (5) individual clearance lights? Heres a few from over on FSC.com

Crank 11-22-2007, 11:27 PM Georgetown huh? I'm from Dry Ridge, seems there are quite a few KY members in here. Did you install those yourself or have a shop do it? I definately think I'm going to have to get me a set of these lights

cowboy56 11-23-2007, 12:04 AM Why stop at puttin the 90 series lights on, go ahead and put on the pre '68 lights. Big, part chrome, and ugly as hell. Just kidding but really, I think that the post 2001 lights kick ass as they are different from ford and dodge. Remember that when it's dark there are still five lights.
cowboy56 11-23-2007, 12:06 AM On a funnier note, the first time one of my buddies saw my 04, he said nice farmer lights, so theres one for ya.
Crank 11-23-2007, 12:30 AM I realize that the 1 piece center light shows as 3 seperate lights when the lights are out, but in my opinion, they look like crap when the lights are on, some folks like 'em. Not this guy. I think the ones I posted fit the cab PERFECT and are located in the exactly perfect place I'd like to put mine on, but he hasnt been on fullsizechevy.com in a few days. Anyone else with older lights on their newer trucks?

duramaxdavid 11-23-2007, 08:08 AM Did you install those yourself or have a shop do it?
Im GM of a shop:D I dont even have to change my own oil. I have never taken my truck anywhere to get worked on. I do it all myself. It took a few hours to through thows lights up. Easy job.
Crank 11-23-2007, 07:18 PM Are you saying you are the GM of your personal shop or a business? I'm just really hesitant to go drilling into my expensive ass trucks roof.
Brandon
duramaxdavid 11-23-2007, 08:48 PM A shop. Drilling the holes wast he hardest part. 15 of them IIRC
Crank 11-23-2007, 09:08 PM How much you reckon it'd run me to have your shop put them on sometime when I come home? I am kinda torn between getting the amber lights that came stock on the '90ish trucks or to get the clear Recon 5 piece set that is a direct replacement... I really dont want the truck to be Ricey or anything, if anything they'd probably end up getting smoked, which do you think would look better smoked? Clear or Amber? Thanks
Brandon
duramaxdavid 11-24-2007, 08:14 AM 79.00 an hour is shop labor. Id give you a hand off the clock. I am going to make them smoked soon, maybe.
Crank 11-24-2007, 06:15 PM Yea, 79 bucks an hour is a little steep, but probably cost alot more than that if you had to fix a mistake you made not using a shop... I dont have the lights yet, and I'm still undecided if I want to drill into my purdy roof, and then which lenses to get, but if I ever get a chance to come home, I may have to just give you a holler and put some lights up there.
