Ok, I have yet to figure this out: How do you force the auto-dim to work and how do you make it not work. Here's the problem, the dang outside mirror won't dim if the rearview is blocked. (During night driving a car approaches from behind with brights on, pulls to pass and slows so that they are just behind your door....Censored killing your sight!) The other side to that is, if you're backing the trailer..... why does the auto-dim work? (Like, backing into the barn while the floodlights kick in.) I sware sometimes that I'd rather just have "plain" glass hanging out there.

Anybody got a clue? :o

You can turn the autodim off when you're backing with the switch on the mirror. Unfortunately, the autodim activates by the rearview mirror, so if it's blocked, no autodim.
