I stopped it at the Allison Repair center to pick up four filters. They had three left. I asked if they sold a lot of them. They said only six cases this week. The box they were in looked to hold 12 or 16. I guess the word is out. Later! Frank

I just picked up a dozen yesterday at the local Allison dealer, and they were $7.18 each...the local Chevy dealer wanted $22.89 each! I learned back in 01 when I had my Duramax that the Anchorage Pacific Detroit Allison dealer was much, much cheaper than the auto dealerships - you would think GM would figure it out and drop their prices to stay competitive.
I'd be willing to pay $9.50 or $10.00 a filter just for the convenience of picking it up at the dealer when I'm purchasing other products, but for a $15.71 savings on each filter, I'll make the extra drive to Allison. Today I saved a total of $188.52 - that's money still in MY pocket.

Last one I bought from one of the local Diesel truck repair outfits here in the valley told me they had 188 on hand. Bought mine for $8.45 and the tax on top. I asked if they sell a lot of them to guys like me. "Nope, but the chevy houses hit us up pretty often."
Hey Frank, wanna open up an Ebay store front for filters?

I just picked up a half of a case from the regional service center. The total out the door price was $9.16 each. Not bad at all.
I also found out while chatting with the parts manager that all of the GM dealers in this area send the Allsion's they pull to this service center. Allsion also supplys all of the GM dealers in Northwest Ohio with filters and parts.
Eric,
I just noticed that W.W. Williams (Censored , no relation), has a distributorship in Grand Rapids. I take it you have an account there? :)
