HI

can anyone tell me how do i know if my injection pump as to be changed or is my remote FSD faulty and needs to be changed? hot to i test them ?

here is wath happend. 1 i changed the oil pressure switch, the truck went good bu still had soem problem in hard acceleration, changed the lift pump the truck went even better but for only 1 day...
the next day, i start the truck and after 5 minutes of idle it stauled, i started the truck again and 2km from my house it stauled and never was able to start the truck again.

can it be my fuel injection pump? i tryed unscrewing a line to see if fuel would come out while cranking and nothing came out. but from the hose that reaches to the pump fuel would spray like crazy. so i know i have fuel that reaches the pump.
i guess there is something electronic that keep the injection pump from doing its job, or could it be that its simply dead without givin signs??

thanks for the help

Please fill out your signature so we know what rig you have. I am assuming 94burbMike is your truck though.
Where is your FSD located? How old is it? I don't beleive that there is a test for the FSD. How many miles on your IP?
Sounds a bit strange to me that either one would go that quickly. Have you checked all the electrical connections & grounds to the IP & FSD?

I think it sounds like a PMD, but fill out the diagnostic check list that is in the FAQ, a PMD is cheaper than an IP, and even if your PMD turns out to be good your gonna need a spare any way! and if your remoted PMD is mounted anywhere under the hood its a 90% bet its now toast

hooo Ok
i have checked all connection and they all seem ok. i dont know the mileage the IP as but i know i had the truck for the last 30 000km ( 1 year) and never had problems. the remote FSd is installed on top of the air intake and it was ther when i purchased the truck. i purchase done online today should arriv eon monday/tuesday and will try to change it to see if it works. i heard that it could also be the selenoid inside the pump that could have jammed ? .... and there is also talk about some optical sensor. but i guess even if was worn out the fuel would still come out the fuel line? Then there is people talking about resistor inside the FSD wath does that change and can i put any # resistor inside my FSD ?

thanks guys
Mike

i will try to fiull in my signature but not shure how to...

Check for fuel return restriction going back to the fuel tank. Injectors must recycle fuel in order to cool. If you have fuel restriction the fuel injection pump will not run. Fuel shut off solenoids might get too hot and the resistance gets too high to be kept open on some models as well. A shot in the dark.
