I have noticed on my new 2005 LLY a kind of damper noise at certain speeds (sounds almost like a fan but not that loud). When I got the truck I thought it was not there but maybe thats my imagination. I checked and there is the big damper with the 6.6 ltr. engraving at the intake.

Is that noise normal? Its little annoying driving around 60 miles/hour and more noisy than the diesel clatter at certain speeds.

you mean the air resonator on top of the intake? I have thought about removing it, but it doesn't really make much noise that I can tell. Of course every vehicle is different.

That noise sounds exactly like what my truck has started doing, I don't think it's your imagination I don't believe my truck made this noise when new. I've checked both my intake and exhaust tracks to see if something came loose, couldn't find anything. I'm with you is this noise normal as the engine gets more miles on it?
