I've noticed lately in Fords latest commercials and advertisements in magazines (like the newest Petersons Four Wheel Drive) that they no longer claim the 600 LB FT they claimed in their adds 3 months ago and are only claiming 575 LB Ft and 325 HP, the LLY is at 590 LB FT and 320 HP and the cummins is 600 LB FT, so how are they also claiming " most powerfull diesel pickup"? Also I've watched a specific Ford commercial a dozen times where their towing a large enclosed black trailer through the mountains and the add says "when your towing a 19000 lb trailer......" and at the bottom of the page in fine print it says " MAX trailer weight is 14,??? LBS." And describes the CC dually shown. Nothing against the PSD but what's up with Ford not being consistant with their numbers?

LMAO... double talk again
More Horsepower than Dodge (not as much torque though)
More Torque than Chev (Not as much horsepower)

LOL you see it all the time on TV..... The last vestige of snakoil sales!

Nothing wrong with a PSD. As long as you don't own one.

I've never seen Ford advertise 600tq. The numbers for 2005 should be:
Ford Powerstroke: 325hp 570tq
Dodge Cummins: 325hp 600tq
GM Duramax: 310hp 605tq

I was involved in purchasing vehicles for a state university for 15 yrs. and always had problems with FORD and their HP and TQR numbers.

Commercials are VERY misleading. As a matter of fact I regularly see Chevy commercials that say

"More HP than Dodge"
"More Torque than Ford"

but they don't tell you they are referring to Standard gas engines in the 1/2 ton and not the diesels, althougth they are showing a 1 ton dually on screen.

I love it how Ford publishes "class leading hp and torque" for the PowerStroke engine as they show you a Truck. But what they don't tell you is that the "class leading" is only for Vans and not trucks.

Commercials are commercials. The extent that the marketing firms go through to try and fool you is amazing.

Every time they talk - it is never the whole truth.

Historically, Ford has always exaggerated their HP and Torque specifications. When you can't keep up with the competition atleast say you can (and then think of an excuses later).

Like was stated in the previous post. Fords advertised HP and torque are 325/570 for the 2005 F series.
Duramax are advertised at 310/605 but I read that these engines are detuned by the computer in 1st and 5th. Can anyone confirm this?
Dodge is claiming Cummins numbers for 2005 at 325/610.
I love the horsepower wars between the big 3. Consumers always benefit from tha manufactures desire to be #1. :D :D
