I studied the comments from alot...of Edge Juice w/ attitude owners. Sounds as if after I get my juice I need the upgrade quick. Two questions
1. How much up grade will I need at what estimated cost?
What is the difference with Juice W/ Attitude & Hot Juice w/ attitude? I heard I will have to sign a waiver if I buy the Hot juice..

if you run the juice on the lower levels you can get away with no trans upgrade. a regular juce attitude is 125 and the hot is 145(rated) on the max setting. A hot will puke a stock trans in short order.
Eric charges 3500$ installed for a SCIII IIRC.
What upgrade you nedd depends on what you want to do, best to do too much trans upgrade though than not enough. So what do you want to do with your truck and what do you do with your truck?

What he said........
The most important thing to remember is to upgrade the trans beyond what you think you will need.....
Horsepower is addictive..:D
For example....you might be thinking that you'll only run the 120Hp program so you could "get by" with upgrading the trans to hold only that added HP....
Then, after driving with the 120 HP for a little while (the time depends on the wieght of your right foot;)) you'll be thinking "I wonder how much HP propane will add?" or "what if I stack this box with that box?" or "Hmmmmm, that nitrous looks cool...." and so on.....):h
I've had the SC level III and the HJAT for about 3 months now and I'm at the "Hmmm ..... How much could I get if I sell my HJAT", and "What will a 220 HP program cost?" and "What about those lift pumps?", oh and this one..... "Honey, wouldn't that Powershot propane system look good under the tree?"):h
What ever you do, if you're going to upgrade the tranny, build it to handle more HP than you'll think you'll need.
Just my humble and honest opinion.........):h

Both replys cracked me up...What I do is hunt and fish...I get stuck occatiuonally (still making the adjustment from gas burner to deisel tonage...I'm looking to purchase a trailer to haul around and sleep in...I like to go fast, but hole shot keeps me from donating to the OHP. So, $3500 allows me to utilize all the Hot Juice?

wldtrky,
Yes, a Suncoast level III tranny will hold a Hot Juice (145 HP).

launching in 4x4 with boost is hard on stock unbeefed front end parts(especially with bigger tires) and building boost on a stock trans is hard on your trans.
suncoast III will hold a hot juice fine though. dont know whats local to you and the going rate, 3500 may be cheap or expensive? but a road trip to sunny CA would get you to a good trans guy. Might shoot Mike L a pm, he knows the innards of the allison pretty well and can set you up with anything worthwile currently out there.

Well, I've never been one to get less than what I wanted to keep. Thanks for the help. I'm going to get the Hot version and layoff the upper settings. 3500 seems high but what all parts does that include? Torque Converter, clutches, Pan?

you could save some money and just go with a transgo kit and a converter. i ran one of these for a year, and almost 25000 miles. i beat the truck up pretty good with a lot more HP than a hot juice makes and it held it just fine. i'd guess the transgo/converter would cost you about $2500 installed depending on where you go.

If your ONLY looking a 145 Edge, a transgo/single disk will be plenty.
I would do the boost valve since your there and its not much more. That combo should be able to be installed for less then 2500 bucks.

IMO, Anything less than a full Suncoast Stage III + or it's equivalent is a waste for most of us. It is too easy to make a Duramax make 450 + -hp. If your asking about horspower upgrades on this board you probably will not stop with a 145 hp box. We are a "horspower seeking breed on here" :D
It's pay enough now or pay more later.
