i got a muffler, but no cat, it doesent run any warmer on the coolant temp, but the intake is hotter from the extra boost related heat i think. that is not a measurable quanity however. i expect EGT is lower than it was with the Cat though

I have noticed that my engine temp fluctuate quite a bit more. At idle, engine temp drops to about 170 dgrees, but when I am running up big hills, teh temp quickly rises to about 190, but never goes higher. That is all since I put the new catless exhaust on.

When I did my exhaust I dropped 100* on the pyro. and gained two lbs of boost. ECT's stayed the same.

mine ran cooler with the removal of the restrictive stock exhaust.

I've seen no higher than 600*F the last couple of days towing a 16' trailer loaded with matierial. I have run it up to 15 psi sustained getting on the tollway and trying to go from 0 to 75 mph pulling about 3-2tons. My ECt's have not jumped more than 10 deg after. ambient was ~60's.

OK QM what is it your doing to keep EGT's that low and having pyro pre-turbo while pulling a trailer, i don't get it?

70 Mph Empty with pyro post turbo, chipped, 4" exhaust, 10 psi boost i'm getting 450F on a flat road here on the prairies, if i understand correctly i should ad 200F because of pyro location.

Hauling my 5th wheel trailer with a combined weight of 15,212 lbs @ 70 Mph, 12-13 psi my EGT's are 800F. Seems i'm running a little hot here?

you have similar numbers to me Rigger. i pull a 5000 lb boat and at 65 on a flat road i pull 800-850 post turbo. i run stock boost control which dumps around 9psi.

Last night i pulled my trailer for 3 hrs back home, what i don't like or understand is why when pulling up hills my EGT's climb to between 1100-1200F post turbo, this thing must be getting lots of fuel, just not using it correctly? Will hi-pops help to lower EGT's also?
