For the guys that have the automatic climate control system when you hit the auto button does your AC icon come on. Everytime I do mine does no matter if I have the temp set high or not. Just does not seem right to me. I have to hit the AC button to turn it off. Is this suppose to operate like this? Thanks

That's the way it works for me, I think I read in the manual that the AC won't come on if the outside temps are below 40F. May need to double check that.

Someone posted the same thing in another thread. The A/C won't kick in until the outside temp is at a certain degree. Not sure what the temp has to be.

my 01 did it and my 04.5 does it so does my friends sunfire. It seems the fan blows more air that way my buddy just leves it on it dosent seem to afect the heat or ac just the fan when its cold.
I just got my LLY yesterday. The A/C is for humidity/temp control I was told! I LOVE this new truck.

Same deal with many GM cars like our vette. The A/C comes on to stop the windshield from fogging up.

If just the heater ran without the A/C being on, humidity in the vehicle in a lot of climates would cause the windows to fog on the inside. The A/C runs on these while heating to keep the humidity low.

If the AC snowflake is on, the compressor is getting juice = drag/friction = mileage decrease...
when I turn mine on or off (when cold out) you can hear the decreased load

When my AC is on I dont get the snowflake as described in the manual. I get a snowflake with a line through it when I push the snowflake button on the unit.. Whats up with that??
