Will someone give me an explanation to what causes a slight shudder when the converter clutch goes to lockup. only does this when converter goes to direct drive and the tranmisson is in a high range selection under a slight load.
thanks in advance

First of all put a Tech 2 on it and watch converter data. You will need to know what you're looking at so have a competent tech do it. If the converter has been actually slipping for over 100 miles it will throw a code. The reason I said 100 miles is that converter slip codes take much longer to trip. If it hasn't thrown a code; you may have other issues and not converter related.
