Have 71K on my '01ECLB with about 11-12mm-7/16th left. Stops good with minor vibration when hot. Gonna give all four a "shave" to true up the rotors as soon as my new Hunter OCL400 "oncar" brake lathe shows up.(High School Automotive Instructor) :D

20,000+ miles and look like brand new. Friend's truck has 45,000 miles and he has replaced the rears a few weeks ago, something about standing on the gas and brakes at the same time alot with worn rear tires??

79,000+ with at least half that towing some pretty heavy loads ... OEM pads still look good, no indications they will need to be replaced any time soon

96000 miles still stock brakes all around except for ebrake. Slight vibration when brakes are real hot. Almost all miles towing heavy trailers.

92000 miles with lots of wear left, but have a squeek/squeal when applied. Sorta like a garbage truck.

Any ideas on how to quiet them down?

Brakes were 75% @ 65K Miles.
Lots of towing in the mountains.
Lots of hotshot runs by me and others
And a few times braking after the 1320'
a few dozen panic stops here and there for suicidal Elk

"Ripley's Believe It Or Not" !!!! 389k original brakes.. were at 50% at 365k still feel fair but have started noticing emergency brake is not as good as it was. Tow 70% of those miles. Will prob. need to replace soon though..

02 GMC 2500 HD D/C crew - 45K miles and pads still look like new
01 GMC Yukon XL - 56K miles (mostly city) wifes vehicle, I would say they still have 75% of the pad left and she is not easy on the binders:eek:

GM did finally get it right on the brakes for the latest generation of trucks. Heck, I had to replace the "lifetime" carbon metallic brakes on her 89 GMC Suburban every 20K miles because they were worn out:mad: I sure got my moneys worth from the pads, but having to replace the front rotors every other time got old. The brakes on that 89 were no bigger than the ones on the cars they were making at the time and had a hard time bringing that tank to a stop. All it took was one hard "panic" stop from 80 mph and the tiny/thin front rotors were warped-:t

We lost a lot in interior room going from the 89 to the 01, but man you talk about night and day difference in braking, performance, handling, ride quality, noise/vibration...... GM got it right:ro)

Over 108,000 and still going strong on '01 GMC 4 W/D. Doesn't look like I will need any pads anytime soon.

102,000+ still over 50% all the way around. I would say you are going to have to replace your rotors when you replace pads, they are gonna be too thin. Mine also pulsate/vibrate when very hot.

2001 with 180,000. No problems. Had them glowing red after coming down Donner pass with 33,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. I do not advise this! That was 50,000 miles ago. Learned my lesson. I stay under 30,000 pounds now. Also 2004.5 with 106,000 miles. Pads look new. Pull trailers most of the time.

86.000, about to need new pads in back. Do lot of heavy trailer towing and lots of sand 4x4 driving.

86,000 and looks like they did the first time I rotated the tires. I feel the brakes could be better...I was downtown Dallas with a Mercedes on my tail when traffic just stopped, I braked as hard as I could just barely missing the car in front of me thinking any second that the moron behind me would plow into me only to look in the mirror to see he was a good 3-4 car lengths back. I know they aren't going to be as good as the Mercedes but all the road tests show the GM's have longer stoippiing distances than other trucks in the class.

 I have 55,670 miles pads still have 3/4 left. But have the squel as if pad were worn down. Have pull tire and check two time.

Only 15,000 miles but tow heavy every day. Checked them when I changed my rims and tires , no wear.

Rear brake pads at around 70,000, fronts still at about 1/3 to 1/2. Highly recommend NAPA ceramic pads at $77.00 vs $165.00 for GM.
