My '05 LLY w/ 2600mi on it:

100+mi trips @ 65-70mph = 17 to 18.5 mpg
100+mi trips @ 70-75mph = 15 to 17 mpg
town driving @0-45mph = roughly 12-14mpg

This is much better than my work pick-up that has the 6000 Vortec... I only see 8-10mpg with it. Very glad that I'm not the one paying that gas bill!

I'm pretty happy with the mileage of my LLY so far, but I do hope it improves alittle more with break-in. I've notice some others on the forum have not seen any improvement with more miles driven.

50% / 50% city / Highway 75MPH on freeway travel = 17 MPG regularly with 4K on the truck and I don't drive hard.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as arthur, but it seems a bit lower now, added an AFE II, and MBRP Dual 409, and it seems that the mileage according to the DIC is really low, 11.5 on avg for 'good' driving, but if I hotrod it all day long, it seems to jump up to 13-14.. Very wierd, probably have to start hand calculating it now.

I have just over 19000 and was averaging between 19-21 on the freeway. About 17-18 all around. However I have just installed the Rancho lift on 285/75 tires. I now am down to about 15 in general. I know some of this can be attributed to the lift and tires and some to winter blended diesel. Will have to wait til next summer to get a real accurate check of how much the lift and tires affected my mileage.

same as arthur...I sold my 6.0L just for that reason..could get no better than 10 mpg city and highway.

I have 4k miles on my LLY and since new the mileage has actually gone down but is creaping back up. City I am averaging about 14 and highway close to 20. I have to get the latest update and that supposedly fixes some mileage issues so I hope to get better after it.

Just over 10K total miles. Highway milage is about 19.5 at about 70 MPH with the truck empty. This is hand calculated and I take the time to fill the tank to the top of the filler tube. Tires are stock size with 55 lb of air.

I have not seen any "break-in" improvement. I recently had the reflash done, but have not done a road trip yet to see if there is any difference in the MPG.

17.9 cross country 2500 lb load at 70 to 75 mph. 17 mpg in town 50 percent and on slow rural road other 50 per cent (55 mpg) Las Vegas traffic with load about 13 mpg.
Now have 8.5K miles on vehicle.

14 - 15 MPG city driving
18 - 19 MPG highway

5,000 miles. Has averaged 15.9 over those 5,000 miles. DIC is dead-on with hand calculations. Stock all the way around. Power/mileage is good for a 7,000 lb. truck with the aerodynamics of a brick.

Apporx 16k miles

Consitently get 17-19mpg hand calc'd unloaded driving in Houston to work. Had the latest update, but all that did was make the DIC less accurate. MY DIC is at 19.9 right now, which probably means i am actually getting 18.5 mpg.

the best i got was 12.9 mpg on the dic. I went on a 6 hour trip from saskatoon to calgary did 100km on cruse my buddy was following me and he said i was doing 110km. the truck was stock ecept for bigger tires. befor the trip i was getting 12.2mpg city/highway. now with it straight piped i get 12.4mpg city/highway. havent done any long trips yet with it straight piped though. This trucks mpg sucks my 01 LB7 got better milage and i used to drive 120km to 140km EVERYWHERE even with a 4" lift kit 17" rims and 35" tires i got better mpg WTF. Iv got over 23000 km on it now, when is it supose to get better its gotta be broken in by now right?

1700 miles. break-in i got 19.9 mpg's. last 3-400 miles i put in a k&n filter and getting about 17.6 due to "gettin on it" a few times. i have discovered LLY fuel mleage depends alot about the driver.

at 3800 miles I've averaged 16.105mpg all hand calculated and a lot of sitting in traffic on the freeway. Although there is one longer trip (all freeway driving) in there that accounts for 2 of the 10 fillups this is calculated from.

14,000 on mine. 18.5 in general driving, city and highway. 19.5-20 on the highway. I use Stanadyne in each fillup. Seem to get about 1-1.5 mpg better with the Stanadyne, so it goes in every tank. Bought 5 gallons of Stanadyne to keep the cost down. Everything is stock, except a cab high camper on the back.

I have 1500 miles on my LLY and have seen 16 mpg so far. I have driven from LA to Fresno twice since I got the truck. I have also added the Predator tune @ 65 hp. and a Pro Flo muffler for improved performance.

2005, Built 11.11.2005 (a month and a day old).
GMC, 2500HD CC SB 4wd.
Picked it up on 12.3.2005, waited 6 weeks as I special ordered it.

First tank of gas (dealer filled...but not all the way) and I got
15.3 with most in town (but suspect as I don't know if it was
really filled or not).

Second tank, some in town, but most state highway and I
got 21.46 mpg. Very surprised and very happy.

Just now on 3rd tank with 550ish miles on it. LOVE IT!

All stock.

10.5K miles. I get close to 20 mpg (all hand calculated - I don't have the DIC)but I have a light foot and usually go the speed limit (60 - 70 MPH). Fill-up today showed 20.19 mpg. The last true highway trip I took I had somewhere over 21 mpg on one of my tanks. That was through the NM and CO rockies.

Bone stock - no mechanical mods.

6100 miles. Either driving around the farm or between farms or to town. Some slow driving on the farm and in town, otherwise usually 60+, so far averaging 12.5 mpg. Dad's truck made same month bought a month later same miles is at 12.9 average mpg. Probably because we have taken his out of town a few more times and on the longer trips it was running about 16.5

Only 850 miles on mine but so far I have averaged 16 mpg hand calculated in mixed driving. On the hiway I usually set the cruise at 75 mph. Happy with that so far, but I hope it improves with additional miles and after winter blend fuel.

May swap the tires to 285's to fill up the wheel opening as soon as wife gives me permission. Just had to have one. Crew cab 4x4 siver birch.

17k miles and get around 17 empty and 9.5 to 10 towing 24 ft enclosed gooseneck trailer. I think it weights about 8500 lbs with all our gear. No mods yet but looking very hard at what might boost my fuel economy while towing. Crew cab 4x4 silver birch, 265's

On the plus side I just noticed now at 6300 miles it seems to have gotten more power. It seems even snappier and spins the tires even easier than before.. Also I should have mentioned that we are pulling trailers a couple times a week most of the year, so that has some affect on the mileage. Not big trailers most of the time, only a couple tons... Anyway I still love my truck.

Just went over 10k miles on my bubble butt dually. Last tank around town average was 15mpg, not bad at all considering I can't keep my foot out of it! I could easily get better mpg's if I didn't remote start/idle for 4-5 minutes before driving, and if I could let off the accelerator. JJ

I'm lucky to average in the 14mpg with a long bed crew cab and that's driving pretty tame. I bought this truck in Oct. 05 and have 6700 miles - how do I do the reflash and do I need to do this? Btw - I run 50lbs in the front and 42lbs in the rear(with no load)so these Goodyears don't wear the center out on the rear.

25 k miles since april , amsoil 5-30 hd diesel oil & there air filter best 21 mpg w/truck loaded,I average 14 mpg pulling 14' enclosed trailer around town combo empty loaded, noraml highway 16-19 , worst 8 mpg pulling loaded enclosed trailer w/ 45-50 headwind into mountains cruise set at 78. i have noticed that if you want your mileage to stay down don't drive over 70, my best mpg was at speeds not over 65 coming out of canada into us. all mileage is hand figured this truck has already performed far better than any of the ford diesels that i have had since 1987. the allison duramax combo is hard to beat.I will install Diablo predator this week and see what it does to the mileage.

8500 miles on 04 crew cab. 16-17 around town, 19-20 interstate empty. Interstate driving done @ 65-68 mph. Going faster that 70 mpg drops mpg quickly.
