This Xcelerator was specifically designed to work on the 2004 & 2005 LLY 6.6L Duramax Diesel truck. Identifying whether there is a LLY or LB7 lurking under the hood can be done easily by checking the eighth digit of the VIN. The eighth digit of the VIN for the new LLY engine will be a two (2). If you happen to locate a one (1) then you have the LB7. Don't worry we can provide power upgrades for either engine platform. Features of the Xcelerator include up to an additional 130hp and 260ft.-lbs of torque, speedometer corrections (for tire sizes ranging from 25” to 44.75” in ¼” increments, and/or gear changes from 2.23 to 5.13), governor removals, and three levels of performance. This unit also retains the stock program so that the truck can be put back to the original settings if the need arises. The Xcelerator also increases the efficiency of the vehicle, which increases fuel mileage (2-3mpg on average). In addition to being an all-star in the world of performance, the Xcelerator is also capable of reading and clearing Data Trouble Codes (DTC) through the OBD II port. Xcelerator can reset the Allison™ transmission for “Fast Learn” operation to begin. In order to insure that you are getting the best product available, we have tested this product off-road, in the desert, the ¼ mile drag strip, the Rocky Mountains , and in the dyno room. You can also stack the LLY Xcelerator with the Duramax Enforcer for even greater results. In only a few moments of time your Duramax truck will experience greater horsepower and torque, plus gain fuel mileage without sacrificing OEM reliability. At PPE we know that you want your diesel to last and that is why we manufacture our products to keep your diesel running strong for years to come.

I dont know much about the LLY but as far as the LB7 motor I didn't know of too many people running the accelerator. Plus their HP claims turned out to be bogus. Check out the thread in here about the LLY tuning. I think it was McRat that did it.

I've heard from several people who said the timing rattle was quite excessive. I'm not sure whether they had all of the GM updates done, but this is consistent with my findings on the LB7 version. Haven't tried the LLY version yet personally.

I tried it on my LLY O5 d- max..It had ALOT of injector knock or some sort of knock until it got warmed up...Power was pretty good to..I took it off because of the Noise when it was cooled..I didnt want to hurt anythng..Hope this helps

The engine rattle with the xcelerator is obnoxious until warmed up. So much so that I quit running it. I'm now running the Predator "tow tune" which is very quiet in comparison.

I've been running one now for a couple months. I haven't noticed any more knock or noise from the engine. When it is cold out and started up, it idles a little rough for a while but I don't think it is that much worse then stock. I am a picky person too when it comes to noises, rattles, or shakes that shouldn't be there. However, I am running the rebadged ATS version, which supposably is different then the xccelerator that you buy directly from ppe. ATS told me their units don't have as much timing, but PPE told me that was not true, so who knows.

I like the power of it too. It is real smooth and runs pretty strong. As far as the hp claims, they are at the fly wheels, so rwhp will be lower.

Allright first post for me here..... "Long time listener, first time caller"!):h

First and foremost, this board :ro) !

Currently I'm running a HOT Xcelertor version. They do have claims of 300hp, but it does say that's flywheel HP in their manual. Also this is not my programmer (it's a rental from a realtive) so I'm not sure if it's someone else's version or not. What I can say is this......

On the 200hp setting it runs quite strong, pulls pretty good and virtually no smoke though. I would probably say that this is more like a 100rwhp or so.

On the 230 extreme setting, runs very well, and smokes quite a bit, I'd almost be inclined to say it has to be up in the 130rwhp range or so. I know it was enough to limp my tranny twice and that was enough for me.

I have no hard proof or ET's or dyno #'s, this is just basically seat of the pants and also being in other Dmax's that are chipped. I will also say that I usually just do roll-on's through 2nd, 3rd, & 4th, I'm trying to save my Alli till spring for an upgrade.

I will also say that it does tend to have a timing rattle, sometimes even when it's warm it is noticeable.

We've dyno'd one here locally and it didn't put down impressive numbers. from the looks of the menu structure it appears to be a bullydog unit in a different case.
