Had an 82 GMC 6.2L for a long time in Oklahoma. Sold it in 02 when I went to Korea with 450k on it at the time. Had 167k on it when I bought it.
Bought a 92 GMC (gasser) in Alaska, drove that down to Vegas, and looking into a diesel again. I've been looking mostly at trucks in the 01-04 range. Tomorrow going to take a look at an 03 2500 HD with 90k on it.
Not sure if I'll pick it up or not, haven't seen the truck yet either. No matter how it ends up going, I'll have a 'new to me' duramax before too long, and get some pics up here of the new one, and the 82 as well if I can find those, should have some sitting around here still somewhere.

X2, The duramax is probably more dependable and far more powerful too. Good luck to you when you find it, you wont go back to a gasser. :D

Well the salesman fell through on the 03 I was wanting to look at, so back to the shopping grind I guess. I'll find the right one eventually, just going to take some more scouring the area, and the internet.
Anyway, here's some pics of my original diesel. Picked her up for 1200 in 94, 4 different tires, and 3 different rims on it at the time. Changed those out the next day, and later on did a chassis swap from a 3/4 ton camper special I found cheap. Sold it in 02 for a little more than I paid for it originally too.
Was a good ole truck, just wish the 700r4 would've been as reliable as the engine. IP was rebuilt once the first winter I had it, that's when I learned about fuel gelling after a road trip to Ohio in January. Replaced 2 bolt rear ends on it, before the chassis swap which put a 14 bolt under it. And the tranny was rebuilt 3 times. Little over 100k each on the tranny rebuilds though, so not terrible I guess.

Took a bit of looking, the info on the site, and VIN checks helped me tremendously in the search, and this is my truck now. 03 CC LB 4X4 SLE. It took a bit to get used to the length again, but I love the truck. Here's a couple shots of it.
