I'm thinking of relocating the PMD and i know this subject has been talked about a lot. My question is what resistor should i put in with the current mods i have? Where should i relocate to. I will be purchasing a new PMD hoping that this will cure my little run away i have every now and again, my current PMD only has +/-40,000 kms on it.
http://www.ssdieselsupply.com/index.html seems to have alot of knowledge about this but keeping it under the hood just doesn't seem right, might be good for hiway driving but i do alot of idling and don't think it will work for that application.

IMO under hood won't cool sufficiently while idling, cooler needs air flow for the finned one to work, look for my points to ponder post where I recorded temps under hood fender mounted, intake worse, I think air box mount would be good, or grille as others have done. I ran a 9 for a while pre reflash; 5 was the recommendation of Heath after the reflash, I would suspect Westers would be same.
I did not notice any difference between 5 & 9 post reflash as I am now already capable of delivering more than 63mm stock programs limit. 5 vs 9 makes incrimental gain for a stock PCM handicapped by 63mm stock delivery, use what you got would be my recommendation.

Thanks for the info TD and i did read your points to ponder post. I got a price from a dealer here of $541 retail but he'd sell it to me for $432. Thats a retarded figure IMO, doesn't even come with a resistor. The part # he's quoting me on is 1262836, is that first, second or third gen? He has no idea himself?

I believe JK and Heath would sell to you for less...and you get the added bonus of talking to two people who actually know something.

The JK mount was the multiple fail type in PTP post, in fairness lasted longer than 1st one on IP/GM location though still an underhood mount then if doing a finnedone again would go with out of engine bay mount.
I liked Bill's warranty & went with that kit 2nd venture into FSD longevity quest. 6 mos and still working

12562836 is the correct GM part number for the FSD, heat transfer paper, and mounting screws kit. It comes with a 34583 Stanadyne (latest) FSD.
I'm sure GM doesn't have seperate part numbers for the different generation FSD's. They just buy whatever FSD Stanadyne is selling and stick it in their GM 12562836 part box.
