Has anyone installed a strobe light set-up? I took the set-up out of my 99 1500 Z/71 (Hide-a-way Strobe dealer installed) and want to install in my 05 Silverado.
Wiring is not the problem, I'm looking for lamp placement ei: headlight vs marker lamp housing, and in the taillight or back-up light. Also drilling the 1" dia. hole. I know to use a hole saw, but any tips?
If anybody has pictures, that would be great.
How about you plow guys, any thoughts?
Pete

i run Neobe strobes in my dmax. rear bulbs mounted in reverse lights, front bulbs mounted in the DRL's. works quite well. i don't have any pictures, but i put the controller under the back seat, and mounted the 4 switches on the driver's side of my center console..

when you say marker I hope you dont mean the cab clearance lights? if so I have heard of it melting things and see how with the limited clearance and the high heat thos buggers can generate. Dont use a crappy hole saw, made that mistake once......

I mean the front directional/marker lamps. Anymore info on the hole saw? Did we crack something?

I am doing a neobe install after christmas. Trying to come up with the wire detail to enable them with the hazards, and when pulling back on the signal lever, momentary on/off.

here (http://strobeguy.safeshopper.com/index.htm?553)

are you thinking of supplying them?

On Edit: My wife wanted to order the strobes from the site mentioned here, I will say it is not a good idea. She cancelled the order after no shipment in 2 weeks (suppose to be a christmas gift) and they threatened to charge a $20 fee just for cancelling the order (had not shipped yet). I wholeheartedly apologize to anyone who took this recommendation.

I don't see where AW has neobes. And what they do have is VERY expensive

If you are planning to put the power supply under the hood, get 25 ft cables for taillight areas!

Gave this email to my wife for a christmas suggestion:

"I will offer free shipping for the tomar kit with 6 strobes at 319.99 (this includes 2-25 ft cables)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks, Louis

Neobe is a trademark of Tomar Electronics. I have been using these for the past 8 or 9 years and I can tell you . I will not use anything else. These power supplys are fully potted and can be put under the hood, where I put mine. Plus there is a 10 year warranty on the packs as opposed the the regualr strobe packs 5 year warranty. I have had to use the warranty and the company is great to do business with. I have outfitted 2 fire rescue vehicles with them and have had 0 problems...Try www.Tomar.com for info

strobesupply.com or awdirect

Strobes suck in heavy snow. they tend to bounce off it and kinda hypnotize you. also if you run em in your headlights they will bounce off the back of your plow and drive you nutty.

I know just what you mean, wingtip strobes on an aircraft do the same thing in the clouds.
