I just installed new wheels and tires. They should only be aired up to 60psi max. I would like to know how many members have been able to get the TPMS alarm level lowered. I will need to take my truck in to see if I can get them to lower it to 50psi I would think would be a good alarm level.

It will depend on the dealer; some have, and some have been told that they can't referring to a tech bulletin from the mother ship............I'm going to try to have that done when I bring mine in for first service. It will be interesting to see other responses. Good luck!

I got my dealer to lower mine. At first the service writer told me he didn't think they could do that but I told him they could with the Tech II. They set mine to 50psi all around any when they returned my trick the service writer thanked me for that little piece of information. Now when I air them up to tow my toyhauler the DIC says "Check Right Front Tire, Check Right Rear Tire, etc. All it takes is 4 punches of the DIC button to clear the messages. A little annoying but towing is less than 10% of my driving so no big deal.

Got my dealer to do it after telling him for 30 minutes that it could be done with a tech II. Lowered mine to 40 psi. When I returned to dealer later he told me they would not be doing it anymore because they were scared they would be liable if something happened to a customers truck related to tire pressures.:(

I tried to have mine set at 38... The paper they gave me said it was done...but dropped them to 48 and the goddamn light came back on, all tires except front left. I guess they only changed one. :(

i got mine done too. One dealer (out of town) where i go to school attempted to reset them by holding the magnet box gizmo to each individual sensor in the tires. Needless to say this did not work... When i took it to my guy at my regular dealer he hooked it up to the computer and everything was good! 40psi in all 4 corners.
