Where is it stated what the ALLISON 6 speed will handle. I run a triple dog on the extreme setting and have a trans go. I would like to know ir the alli will hadle roughly an additional 120 horespower and live any kind of reputable service life that the allisons are know for.
Thanks in advance for the input

They are all slightly different. Do you have the stock t/c? That may be your next weak point.

some will say 120 is ok , my feeling is anything more then 150~170 ft lbs and 70~80 hp is about the limit without internal upgrades. I have read before 700 ~750 ft lbs is the limit for a stock converter , I would stay on the low side ..... stage 3 suncoast isnt cheap and a converter add 1500. to that !

I think it depends on how you drive it. Some of the members here have been driving the lbz with transgo jr. and 225 PPE program and still no problems. But they probably aren't standing on it through the gears much I would think. I have been running the 225hps tune on mine for a couple of months but don't get on it really hard most the time. But it sure is fun. Will see how long it lasts.

Not really wanting to buy a transmission or t/c I will back it down a bit. I am usually easy on it, but is hard not to beat on it with all the added power. I really would like to drive it for a while at least exceed 100k without buying a trans.

Your converter is the next weak link. Power wise all depends on what your doing. Seen where with a transgo jr and 1057 the 6speed hold beyond the 530rwhp mark. The real question is how long will it hold.
