Parts all over the place. The engine is from Ohio, not sure where the Ali comes from. My truck was assembled in Michigan.

I think the 2004 extended cabs were made in Pontiac, Mich., and the crew cabs in Flint, Mich. I suspect it is the same for 2005. If this is incorrect, please post away.

Here is the Duramax factory in Ohio (summer 2001). Unfortunately, no tours at that time. I do not know about the status of tours now. The factory is located on the north west corner of the property were they assemble the short Trail Blazer.

Crew cab final ASSEMBLY was in Flint, Michigan. Duramax mfg in Moraine, OH. Chassis from Canada as well as, most likely, plastic interior parts. Lot of rubber stuff from Brazil. Bosch system assembled in Mexico. Vehicle is only part American. Don't sweat it though, down the road it will be all from CHINA like everything else seems to be today. Probably some in it now.

Roof clearance lights made in China, stamped on top in large letters, almost tried to buff them off with polisher.

I stand corrected. I thought I heard that the Allison was made next door, but research has proved the Indianapolis, IN and I will just believe you on the Maryland one. Thanks for informing me!

NOSLIW, YOUR "BABY" was built at my plant= Pontiac East. Look at the Vin# = # it should say 5(E)= 2005 Pontiac East truck. ALL CREW CABS are built in Flint,Mi. about 35 miles North of the Pontiac East plant. Thus it would be a 5(F) if it were a Crew Cab!

Howard speaks the truth about where our "Babys" were born.
I have been up inside the "Birth canal" and have seen the inner workings of the birthing process with my own eyes. :D

Hey Hoot,
That's some interesting info you posted, but I'm wondering about the turbo part? I think the turbo you're talking about is the one used on the LB7 engines?

IIRC, the LLY uses a Garrett and I don't think those come from Japan...
