My Dmax is in an insulated but unheated garage, when it gets down to 30-35 (early January) I put the block heater on a timer that runs for about 3 hours. Now if I could only figure out how to tap the light pole at work for 110V all day long, that would be sweet. The heater sure comes on a lot faster after the block heater has done it's thing!

My Duramax gets plugged anytime below 40 degrees, all night long. I only drive it two miles to work, so....

Usually anything below -15°C. Use a timer whenever I can, try not to run the power more than 4 hours or so, a block heater only gets so warm.

I usually plug in at 10 or colder. I don't pay for electricity. Nice!

Usually around 32 deg. F. More for me than the truck.

Whenever it is in the 30's. I have it on a timer that runs for 3 hours before start up. I like the fact that I get heat ALOT faster with it plugged in.

never even tested mine, even though it hovers around 40 and below every night (I'm gonna try it tonight!).

What do you do with the cord once you've unwrapped it from it's pretty factory coil?

I ran it out to the tow hook. That is where it's not noticed. I've seen guys run them out of the Headlight area too.

I usually plug mine in below 40F... I only drive a couple miles to work and don't like running it that cold, since most the time I am in a hurry to get to work... the instant cab heat is a plus too!
