I am currently running an older Z71 with an 8" lift and 36" mickeys. It is about time to upstage my current rig. Looking to go 10-12 with a duramax and 39-40s with my next rig. Wondering what is out there for a big lift and if the front ball joints are 'still' an issue?
I run a procomp lift but really liked the fabtecs that I did because they used a different spindle that had a taller upper ball joint mount. Right now, I can eat a set of ball joints in 20K miles. Not all smiles about that so looking for better durability of a newer duramax truck.

I would go with the Cognito kit. I have had many lift kits, and so far this is the best one. Everything fits great and the install is simple. So far I havent had to replace any CV,s or ball joints.

I notice Cognito just offers the front lift components, do they offer the rear goods? I am having sticker shock vs what I paid years ago for my Procomp. I feel a steering damper is a must too and did not see that so maybe I would get to custom install one.

All 2500's & 3500's already have a factory steering damper.

Cognito uses deaver leaves in the rear. Spending the extra money for a good quality kit is the way to go. It will save you a lot of money in the long run.

yes they offer the whole she-bang. i only bought the front lift, shocks, and rear bearing drop down spacer from them. the other stuff i pieced together myself. i could'nt pay what they wanted for deavers and air bags. i bought 3/4 ton arched springs from competition leaf springs and saved about $700.00+
the old pro comp lifts DO NOT compare to the higher end lift kits such as Cognito,CST, and a few others. you gotta pay to play. but with some searching you can pay alot less like i did
also it would be nice to know what kind of truck you have . year model, cab ,bed length,4x4,etc.
