I know this subject has been beaten to death, but it's so hard to find the answers you are looking for in other posts. So I am wondering...Has anyone of any company found out a way to get another downpipe to work? Has anyoned tried maybe a 1" body lift to get a little extra space? Just trying to figure out what's gonna happen when the new turbos come into play....

From what I understand that is the only thing really in the way of an aftermarket turbo. Literally

The biggest holdup right now is out turbo uses non standard mounts.
The exhaust HSG and the turbine exhaust inlet are built into the pedestal itself.
Until someone makes a new mount that will accept either a standard Garrett ot Holset Exhaust inlet housing to bolt up to, the exhauhst 'fire pipe' or outlet is a moot point.

ATS and BD power are working on one.
Basically they are both indicating avail 1st quarter of 2005

Hey Mike, what kinda ideas you hidin under your hat out there? Here in KY if it doesn't involve some flex pipe, duct tape, bailing twine, and some hilbilly engineering we usually don't get it goin. LOL

Ryan, I'll sell you a custom flex pipe downpipe kit with all included hardware(ductape and bailing wire) for $295. You might have to do some cutting;)

Numerous places that are working on it. Another problem is all the other little pidly BS that you wouldnt think of. Like dipstick fro your trans and such......

you should put that kit in production. maybe u could use some 5" flattened out stove pipe. LOL yea i figured there more to it than just fitting it between the firewall, after i got to looking back there. i bet that will be a fun install whenever it comes out. i can already feel busted knuckles just thinking about it. but after doin my own tranny swap and elocker install it cant be much worse

I just read in a magazine that Gale Banks engineering,In conjuction with Robert Bosch corp,Garrett turbochargers and general motors. Is in the development of the Banks sidewinder D-max Type R race truck. Cranks out 650 plus h.p. and 1000 lb.-ft torque.

The Banks project is a roadrace truck that doesn't run into the envelope issues that the production truck encounters. I think it's going to impress the hell out everyone, and be the first diesel to compete head-to-head with gasoline race trucks.

i wish they would worry more about makin "US" some more power. I mean, we are the ones that give them the buying power. But once they make their $$$ they don't really care i guess
