has anyone had the same problems i have????03 4x4 ho 6 spd. I have broken the left front axle twice now.....been covered under warranty both times but a pain in the ass when you need your truck. The first time i had about a 8500 pound load and trying to crawl over a terrace in the field and it snapped in 4 low in 3 rd gear idling. Yesterday I was in a field with about 12000 in some soupy grass/mud couldn't get over a small terrace so I had it in 4 low 3rd gear and dumped the clutch pretty good trying to climb over the terrace and it snapped again. I love the truck but with only 15,000 miles and broken twice i wonder how many more times this is going to happen.
maybe i am expecting to much...

Of course mine is auto, so I don't have the option of putting it in third gear LO, but I haven't had any problems pulling equipment through my fields (backhoe on fifthwheel/11k), and it has been raining for weeks here in Indiana.....so everything is mud!! Likely my gears are different too. I will say this, my Pete 379 (CAT 3406 about 435+hp and ????ft/lbs) that if I engage the twin screw in the mud pulling my grain trailer out I can quickly snap a driveshaft when if it does get that sudden bit of traction and I'm in it too much. I would almost venture to say you are dumping to much load (torque/hp and pull weight) on the drivetrain; and that front axle just happens to be the weakest link. I take it a little easier now, nothing sucks more than working on a truck in the mud, especially if it has 40k or 12k behind it.

The dealer hasn't said anything about the lift kit?

no....it is a 2" spacer....Doesn't affect any of the driveline geometry or anything....On my friends alignment machine it did not even make a 1 degree difference in any of the values. I have 10,000 miles on the tires and no noticable difference in wear.
