Is it necessary to take loose the A/C compressor and bracket and such to remove the vac pump - which is what the factory manual shows - or can it be popped out some other way?
Mine is screaming something awful and I picked up a 101" belt at lunch, but gotta hit the road ASAP!
TIA,

Removed and installed from under.........if you don't mind working on your back, maybe 1 hour in and out.

on my 1999, just needed to turn the vac pump to get access to 3 bolts that hold it in place.
I went the long way and removed the alt and bracket and tensioner only to find out it should have taken 15 mins.
Live and learn.

That's what I did to remove mine on my '94. Now that I know that is how its done, I could probably do it in about 25 minutes. Those bolts to remove the A/C compressor from the bracket are the trickiest part...
