One local shop wanted $2800 for turbo back exhaust, intake and some top notch ppe programmer- does that seem expensive?? Another shop said $2000 for the same set up but all BRP parts... And Im not really into the programmer...please help

Hey Cain,

First of all welcome to the site. Secondly about the shops, there are two that come to mind and one happens to be from the programmer. PPE is located pretty close to you along with Redline Diesel. If you are looking for tranny work then the closest would be Mike L. You can look up all these guys in the vendor section of this site.

As for the pricing on the stuff that you got, it depends on what you are getting but it sounds a little bit pricey. Depending on the programmer they priced but one of the top PPE's is around 1000 and that is for the E.T. For the exhasut side of things you can range again but an average would be 500 or so. The intake is around 300 or so depending again on the brand. I would first check and see exactly what you are getting before buying.

Will PPE do the intake and exhaust work as well as the programmer???

Hey Dude. Welcome to the DP.

I am just down the road from you, San Marcos.

Depending on your budget... I would humbly suggest the following. First diesels are the in thing right now, most parts will cost double or triple big block chevy stuff, be prepaired.

1. Do your trans first, if you wanna go fast, it'll be the first issue costs $1500-6000. IMHO Mike L at Inglewood is the best on this coast.
2. Check out MBRP for exhausts, i think they carry the widest variety, try and put it on yourself save $$$.
3. PPE (ask for Dan) is the hottest tuner ($1000+/-) around but to use it all, you'll need a trans. If you wanna learn to tweak it go for the big kauna, EFI LIVE. You can "talk" directly to the ECM and get what you want from the motor. It takes time and effort to be good. If you wanna plug and play get as tuner (PPE)

PPE can do it all. They tune one of the fastest DMAX's in the nation.
