this is my first diesel so i am not sure what to expect but i was pulling my enclosed 24 foot trailer which was empty had the cruise set @ 74m.p.h. went to pass someone and the truck just didn't change. i had plenty of pedal left but it just didn't change did't go faster or slower just stayed the same. why is this? something i don't know about or what? i've been in other trucks when you go to pass someone you at least here the turbo kick in. ant explanation would be great. truck only has 2300 miles and is stock

My first guess would be a plugged fuel filter.
