My 05 came with the factory XM radio, but I'd like to put a better head unit in it. My dilema is, I don't want a SECOND XM antenna in the truck since I already have the nifty factory installed antenna.
Does anyone make an adapter for the stock XM antenna to work with an aftermarket box (Like pioneer premier??)
Thanks!!

have always heard the factory has same antenna leads as most aftermarket
just open your glove box and drop the door all the way down, the tuner is behind it and you can see for yourself

I had thought that the antenna had a 2 lead connector.............later antenna have a single lead connector.
Maybe an adaper is available for an aftermarket head unit.

My Pioneer box has a 2-lead antenna (satalite and terrestrial) so if the factory has the same leads, (as long as I can figure out which is which) It should plug in and work fine. I know that on the Pioneer antennas you can de-pin the plug to get it through holes, etc so hopefully I can re-pin the factory antenna to the Pioneer plug . . .
Thanks for the help guys!!

Our thinking right now is to re-pin the stock connector to work on the Pioneer XM box (GEX-P910XM). Stereo a ways down the list of priorities and we won't know if it works until we actually fire it up, but I'll keep you all posted.
