What stereos are on the market that fit where the factory unit is? I have read that they have wiring attachments so you can keep your steering controls. I am just looking for something cool to put in my factory place. I am wanting something in the line of Pioneer because I want the thing to be xm ready. Plus something that has cool videos on the screen, or another TV so people can watch tv there as well.

well i know that kenwood makes a touchscreen hu where the screen is the size of the opening. my buddy put one in his and it's awesome. Lots of capabilities and love the DVD player. only thing is it's kenwood so sirius only, no XM

Hired Gun,
Diesel Dually is right. I went to Crutchfield and they have 2 Pioneer din &1/2 sizes to fit. You will need the additional xm add on. I just recieved mine and as sson as the speakes show up I will install. By the way I bought the reciever from Crutchfield and the speakers from thezeb.com. They have better prices overall but Crutchfield rocks for customer service imo. Good luck

You can get most of these boxes on eBay for half the price.

He asked what fits...I did not tell him to buy from there. I would not buy from Crutchfield any more because they tend to be a little pricey, Ebay is almost always cheaper, and I can do the work myself w/o much support.

You can make any deck fit in the factory deck hole all you need is a dash kit. They sell for about $15 to $30 and the wiring harnesses sell for $15-$20. I put a pionear 6 1/2" indash touch screen dvd player in my truck and grounded the e-brake wire so i can whatch movies or music videos wile im driving if i want. I would go with pioner for sure, iv got 1 lower end deck 1 top of the line deck and the dvd player and i have never had a problem with any of them. Also i listin to music all the time and i have never ever skipped one of the decks not even when i T-boned a sunfire at 80km, It didnt skip a beat. That is a quality deck, Go pioner!

As it's been said before, just about any HU will work, you just need the right kit and interfaces. There's a ton of good HUs out there, I'm partial to Pioneer. If sound quality is what you want, the Premier 860 is awesome and the finish doesn't stick out like the silver ones. Not sure why so many guys lean toward the factory Navs, just about all the after-market ones blow it away. Kenwood's newest nav is nice, and yes you can have XM in a Kenwood....that's right, not just sirius...XM thanks to terk. The N1 still has better sound processing and D/A converters. Also if motorized faces scare you, the Kenwood isn't a solution, it's motorized too.

One brand to stay away from for sure is Sony...total crap...
