I installed a KN cold air kit on my truck and the first time I pulled my Nova to the track it set a Mass air sensor code. Is this typical? Is there anything I can do to make it better? I cleared the code and the next time I pulled the trailer it set it again.
any help? thanks

Clean the MAF, their may be some oil on it from the K&N.

Like Rttoys said, Get some electronics cleaner and clean the little wire element in the maf sensor, it's probably got some oil on it, It's pretty fragile so just use the spray actoin to clean it. do you have a cone filter or a flat one?

I have the entire system with the cone filter. It only sets the code when it is in a pretty good pull like getting on the interstate on-ramp

Sounds like the air filter oil fouling the hot wire sensor. Common. Like others have said, don't touch it, just used a good electrical parts cleaner that leaves no residue.
You can wash your K&N and re-oil it lightly so it doesn't keep happening.
