I just changed my Allison filter and cleaned the filter
magnet with 22750 miles since I last changed my filter.
The magnet was dirty with fine black silt on it.

If you use TranSynd, you don't need to change out the
filter as frequently as with OEM non-TranSynd fluid.

I noticed that the residual TranSynd fluid in the filter and the
amount lost (about a cup) was not the like the new TranSynd.
It was somewhat clouded and did not look like the new pink
color when it when in.

I wonder if I'll make it last to 75,000 miles?

I read somewhere on here that Transynd has no colour consistancy. Only colour to be concerned about is black.

For what its worth....

I did my first drain and fill at 7500 and again at 33000ish. The trans oil after a bit of use begins to have a look of new motor oil in my experience. It doesn't smell abnormal, tranny shifts fine, never goes above 160. Goes in blood red, but doesn't seem to hold that color long.

Freaks you out, but since many here have said it doesn't stay that color long not to worry.

What do you expect for 8 bucks a quart, perfection?:D For that kinda money you would think they would get the color thing right just to make people feel better.

I am working on an additive for it that will make it any color you want.. Should have it soon where it will match your truck color. IF that works, then I am working on scented Transynd.. How about Blueberry bubblegum?

I have seen it as high as 57 dollars a Gallon at Hines Brothers in Southbury, worth mentioning for people in the area Rip-offs!

Makes absolutely no sense that once it sees a little heat it turns a tint of Yellow Orange then looks brown like a rubber band Tranny beat to snot!
I wonder if all Castrol Transmission oil does it? Perhaps a tranny builder is behind the dye spacifics! :D

Well lookie here, your fluid is Brown, better get her rebuilt right quick!

The Black fluid is a converter issue before my upgrade,I liked Tow Haul!

That will compliment the fresh scented grape juice rear end fluid nicely!! ):h

Castrol SynTec synthetic atf does the same thing. Is there a purpose for that; I don't know. I don't like it and it sure make my customers nervous.

I just wonder how many people have their fluids checked at a quick drain and fill shop and are told their tranny fluid is used up and they need a flush fill.

I at first glance thought something was wrong but since it smelled normal figured it was normal.

I guess we all rely on our senses a little too much from days gone by.

My truck has never seen a quick lube shop. Hell, I barely trust my dealer, I was just rattling off my thoughts Mike.

Thank God for the Diesel Place Forum!
I had mine changed to Trans Synd (at the dealership where I bought the truck) back in the summer. Today I had my truck serviced at a local service station where my business partner and I have been doing business for years. When they checked the color of the transmission fluid it was brown. Kinda scared the _ _ _ _ out of me. I was planning to call the dealership tomorrow. But then I thought, if anybody would know it would be somebody at the Diesel Place Forum. I didn't have to ask, you have already been talking about the color of the fluid. Feel much better now. Sorry to be so long winded!
But just wanted to say thanks,
Billy
