i did the whole search thing but all i want is a few short answers.
ok i am a little bit worried about my ally. i dont want/need a full tranny upgrade just yet. i dont/cant get a full tranny as i got bills to pay and only got a little $$ to play with.
now i read up on the co pilot and got intrerested very quickly.
all i want to know is can i install this with a stock ally? how is it with its drive abilitys? and will it hold a predator 100 with 285's?
do you guys think the co pilot is worth it?
i will be building my truck very slowly but i will some day have a fast truck.

I am not sure on what the co-pilot on a stock trans will do, but if your only running the Pred, i'd leave it alone for now, and continue building your bank acct. IIRC, the co-pilot relies on high line pressure from the ATS spring installed in the pump which requires removal.
I think a co-pilot is around 1000 and you should be able to get a transgo kit installed for just a few bucks more.

I ran the CoPilot alone for a few months before getting the whole trans done. I'd say save your $ and do it all at once, try and take it easy until then. I think it may give you a false sense of security and you'll beat on the truck more (at least I did)):h . I was still able to zing the tranny when flooring it on the Fwy with the CoPilot installed with the Quad 135. It is meant to be put on a trans with healthy clutches, if you've been puttin some hurt on the trans already with the Pred, chances are your clutches arent quite so healthy anymore. ATS told me it won't help an already abused trans.

I imagine you could call them and get the complete kit minus the t/c. Then you could purchase any t/c you wanted. I seriously considered doing the same but ended up keeping the ATS t/c. The t/c alone would be an easier install later if you decided to go that route.

I would recommend exercising restraint on the power addition until the transmission can be afforded. Stay around 90HP and take it easy. If you have to pull the trans, you might as well do it all while you are in there rather than facing repeat labor.
