My 07.5 LMM has a black liquid of some sort splattering around the rims from the center, behind the plastic hub cap. On a 300 mile trip, it's a strong enough mist of oil/grease to hit paint along the entire side of truck! any ideas? Axle seals???

Whatever it is, it at least is under warranty!

Might be kinked vent tubing causing pressure to push oil out past the seals.

Did it just start doing it since a washed it? Did you take the caps off and look? Sounds like water/mud coming out from the centrifugal force.

Could it be brake pad dust behind the cap, getting wet?
Does it feel oily?

I've noticed it at about 1100 miles after a 300 miles (one way) trip up north! ......it is oily! Brake Dust sticks too it! will take caps off this weekend if I have the time and post!!!!

This would be very odd, seeing that the front hubs are 'dry' outside of the brake rotor. There is an of chance that the mating surfaces of the hub and wheel have been coated with some kind of antiseize or grease. This should be done to help stop corrosion between the wheel and hub due to dissimilar metals. If too much of the compound was used, it would spin out from the hubs and make a mess.

Usually there is some oil left on the parts that was there to keep them from rusting before assembly, It is normal.
